But it's not. It's actually a very useful feature to millions of people. It's not a trick to get attention, it's actually very useful. It's just not to you. It's still hilarious you can't grasp that. Could I live without it? Sure. I could also live without fingerprint scanner, dual camera, and Bixby. I use some, I don't use others. I don't consider any of those to be gimmicks. gim·mick ˈɡimik/ noun a trick or device intended to attract attention, publicity, or business.
People can consider something a gimmick while still acknowledging that some will find it useful. They aren't mutually exclusive positions. Like that Motorola phone with all the attachments is a huge gimmick, but I'm sure some people have found value in it.
That's certainly not the logic I've used in explaining my position. But more power to you if it's yours.
It's literally what you've said. Moving on. About to watch a ballgame while my phone charges on the stand.
It's not, we both know it's not. I've given substantive reasons for my position. You disagree, which is fine, but I've made a reasoned argument. Also, great narration about doing something both forms of charging can do.
You can't grasp that it's what you're doing. That's the funny part. You've given no reason other than you don't use it. Every "Well you can do it this way..." is met with a "Yea but wireless makes it more convenient for me bc..." You haven't made a reasoned argument at all. In fact, you're talking about something you've never even used. Your entire position is based on ignorance. Saying it's a feature you wouldn't have a use for is fine. Calling it a gimmick is just ignorant. A cord does not work as a stand while charging my phone.
Sorry, I'll let it go. It just irks me when people have such a strong opinion on something they've never used.
That's not true at all. At no point have I said wireless charging isn't the best option for you, specifically. I've never used meth but I know it's bad. Sometimes it's just enough to know the features of products to develop an opinion of them.
I just thought wireless charging was a nice option that's all. ITS NOT THE REASON I BUY A PHONE. GOD, FUCK ME.
Hey, if you don't want to have an earnest discussion, that's your choice. I can go all day thanks to my wired charger, which charges my phone even while I post.
Same. I've seen Android phones that piqued my interest, then I see it lacks wireless. Nope, go fuck off stupid phone.
I'm not sure what this means, but it looks like the rumoured pixel watch might have the new qualcomm soc.
I have to say, I did not think I would like the gesture controls on Android 9, but they are growing on me.
Not a fan of the horizontal recent apps but I get they had to to incorporate the release button gesture.
I really like gestures. I went to it the first day. They also said it's here to stay according to an article I read so might as well.
I just don't like that you can't see all you have open. You could see that open imgur tab with Emily Rossum's tits coming at ya the old way. Gave a husband time to prepare to clear.
No, but for some reasons Android messages inexplicably switched MMS to SMS on group texts. Really annoying. Seems to have worked out by now.
Does anyone know how to allow an app to past through DND mode? I'm on 8.0 Oreo, but the guides I'm finding are old.
With the Pixel 3XL leaks (ugly imo), I'm leaning towards getting a Pixel 3. I'd be going from a Pixel XL (5.5 screen) to the 3 which supposedly has a 5.3 inch display. Not that I've minded the size of the XL, but having a screen that is similar in size with a much smaller footprint is intriguing.
Droid Life: If There is a Pixel Stand for the Pixel 3, It’s UI Could Look Like This. https://www.droid-life.com/2018/08/31/if-there-is-a-pixel-3-stand-its-ui-could-look-like-this/ dblplay1212 looks like you can consider a pixel phone the next time you upgrade.
ok so android messages has been fucking up the last few weeks. i keep getting error messages. messages aren't coming through. in group messages, i'll get about 75% of messages with the other 25% either never showing up or coming in much much later, making it impossible to follow the conversation. so...is anyone else having these issues? is it the app or the service provider (Fi)? is there anything i can do fix the app? i already deleted cache and data, and that did nothing are there other apps you guys would recommend? i don't really like hangouts for texts, but i'm really fucking pissed at android messages so i'm up for whatever. this has really been going on the few weeks and it's gotten to the point where i'm really looking for other options
A co-worker was having massive problems with it as well. It might be the same things, I'm not sure. I've been using Pulse for the last few months and it's flawless.
That's almost certainly the service provider. I would try restarting the phone when it happens, but otherwise you're fucked.
Even if my wife with the same service provider is getting them from the same group message without issue on a different device?
It's possibly a 3rd party app that's causing the problem and not Verizon (since it doesn't seem to be an epidemic). Try booting your phone into safe mode and having someone send you texts
I had the issues a week or so back but only for one day on Verizon. I didn't think anything of it at the time.
reading around online it seems to be a big issue with project fi, and happens on the other carriers every once in a while
That's interesting. I've never had that issue with Fi, or any issue, really. It's the best wireless company I've used.
