Water break on westside, all of us in the city are - at best - boil water advisory but I have been without.
no water disruptions here in the lovely city of Avondale Estates. been telling y'all its the place to be.
Really want to try this Atlanta's best wings place in the news this morning. Guy was willing to step over a body to get his order. They are probably amazing. “I just happened to pull up here and get some hot wings when I saw a guy laying on the ground. I just walked in to get the wings and the guy told me to get out the store. Next thing I know, police are swarming the place,” he said.
Just want to make clear that this is not the ABW just outside the city limits of Atlanta's best city, Avondale Estates. This is the Stonecrest location. That is all.
A couple of my wrestlers and their friends have worked at the Memorial and Columbia location and they told me not to go there, due to both food safety and regular safety.
This is an unexpected part of teaching/coaching. Kids will just be like "coach, please, don't eat here anymore. It's gross. They got rats. "
I worked at the old mall in Union City during HS. I'd eat American deli every day. Blew my mind that I could get a combo with Wings, a sandwich, and fried rice.
Ever met Darren Cotton? He was my boy in HS. We were on Team Georgia national duels together (along with UFC badass Anthony "Rumble" Johnson actually) back in the day. Darren was a 130 pound ball of muscle, and a really good dude. I think he's reffing nowadays. ETA: I'm at Trinity Christian in Sharpsburg.
It's a weird company. Pretty sure they are all independently owned, but I've been to locations around Atlanta, from rough parts, all the way out to the one on 78 by Provino's in Snellville. They all hit every single time.
Yeah, I know him, and yes, he is still refereeing. I actually need to call him bc he's offered numerous times to do a camp for us, and I just haven't had time to set it up. Nice, I know some folks out that way. My uncle was the long time coach at Northgate.
they're great. stopped by a couple of times when I was out visiting some people at apartment complexes I was suing.
Then you're uncle is Adrian Anderson -- good guy. He was coaching there while I was in HS even. I'm legit friends with him on Facebook. I tell everyone that he looks like an older Sam Rockwell.
Indeed. He was inducted into the GA wrestling HOF a couple years ago, and that’s part of why I got back into the sport. Just sitting there in the ceremony made me want to get back involved.
i have probably looked at a case at 75%+ of the apartment complexes around atlanta. but in that vicinity - highlands, woodridge, eastwyck
Oh yeah, I have taken kids home to all those. The Hamp (Highlands) makes me nervous af. Even the kids who live there are very hesitant to ask me to take them home. PDE (Summit Hill) and Sun Valley (Artisian) are also historically rough apartments in this area, but guys like Young Nudy and Gucci have generated some money over there, so it seems to be a lot more chill than it used to be.
Apparently two people got shot at East Lake Park last night in a drive by style shooting (or shooting from a car) at people on the basketball courts. Feel pretty fortunate. I was on my way there with my son around 8pm. Would've been right there, possibly next to or walking through the line of gunfire.
highlands is pretty high on the list of the worst complexes in atlanta, I still see stuff from PDE and Sun Valley too, but not as much. I thought the AJC dangerous dwellings series was really good and helped shed light on how bad some of these places really are and how little is actually done to protect tenants in Georgia.
I used to work for a transactional lawyer who had represented and was the registered agent for the entity that had owned Forest Cove like ten years prior. We would still get served every now and then by pro se litigants and dumb plaintiff’s attorneys. It was always something just absolutely insane going on
You don't want to be on any of those after 4p, its still wild. DeKalb County Police rarely respond to calls any longer, so we do our own self policing best we can using unarmed security + video surveillance.
