Yeah, a guy shot two people then got shot in the leg by the cops. Fucked up traffic for a while. Dont think it was a potential mass shooter situation. Also, some dude hijacked a bus in Gwinnett full of passengers and was just GTA joyriding it, smashing into parked cars and whatnot. No serious injuries reported yet.
Somebody did die in the bus incident. It was pretty wild It actually started downtown, they jumped on 85 and went all the way to Jimmy Carter, then got off and drove another 5 or so miles down near the Smoke Rise area in Tucker/STM, like a mile from my old man's house.
Apparently the guy that hijacked the bus was at the shooting downtown right before. Wild day for him.
Sat on 85 for almost an hour between 400 and the Connector. I was the last one off the 17th exit before they closed it. Felt like I was on the last chopper out of Nam.
All about how and when they redirect traffic. Last year I was the first person rerouted to another checkpoint and I spent 2 minutes walking and none in line. This year I was the last person before rerouting and spent 30 minutes in line. Not too bad, but I should have gotten out of line to go to the bathroom and head to the new line.
We were trying to move trailers out of GWCC and had to stop because our drivers were getting stuck for an hour/hour and a half. So now, we may not be out in time per our contract. Good times.
Excellent vibes were had. I was also formally introduced to the Clermont Lounge last night. What a place.
I’m still highly recommending Tuza for anyone who likes or wants to try tacos. They’ve added some cool new items recently. Lobster birria is very good and their cheesecake tacos are insane. They taste like elevated toaster strudels.
Just got a phone call about this... It's pretty convincing, be weary. Luckily, I hung up on him before he got to asking for money. Told him I'd need to call my lawyer, and have them get in touch with the sheriff's office. He then said that "today was the only day I could get this figured out civically and if I hung up, officers were coming to take me to jail." Which is when I felt the most confident that it was all a lie. https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/atlanta/news/jury-duty-scammers-target-georgians
I didn't, and never answer them. They left a pretty convincing voicemail with case numbers, judge name, and everything.
Went last Saturday. Really enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow but they brought us free drinks to make up for it. Great vibes all around.
The truth is that Capstone 88 and Menelaus co-own this place and they’re trying to guerrilla market it to us
Gene's opened last night at 2nd & Hosea in East Lake. Seems like it'll have good vibes. Line at the door waiting for them to open
Have heard good things as well but still pissed they got rid of El Taco. Hilarious that Nowak's immediately rebranded to Nowak's Cantina and started serving Mexican food
They didn’t even change the sign. Just added another sign that’s a different shade with “Cantina” on it. Hilarious.
If you haven’t been to Genes Genes Genes, you’re missing out. brisket plate that came with homemade tortilla fried in beef tallow.
I appreciate TheFreak55 keeping me up-to-date on recent restaurant openings and closings. He’s this thread’s Eater
Sadly I have no excuse to Atlanta until Hawks season(friend bought tickets basically under the goals like an idiot)
Honestly, I think this guy's guide is Would feel fully comfortable sending it to someone who asked for Atlanta recommendations.
Appreciate these lines: “If you find yourself staying with your cousin who “lives in Atlanta” but you are outside the perimeter (OTP), your cousin is a dirty liar.” “Don’t take a damn left turn on Dekalb Ave.”
