Haven’t ventured out yet but the patio, driveway, street all are dry now. Surprised how quickly the wind dried it out.
Lost power overnight in Cobb. Not sure how long it was out, but everything is still covered in ice outside and my driveway is a luge track so I’m still stuck at home.
Roads are pretty good in midtown/west midtown. Things are slowly opening. Piedmont still covered in snow and it’s really pretty.
Lol https://www.yahoo.com/news/please-stop-ordering-food-during-040936053.html Please stop ordering food during Atlanta's snow storm, DoorDash says Judayah Murray
Jamal Lewis and Ed Reed on staff - come on down Ray! Don't worry, it's 6 miles up Peachtree from the old Cobalt - you good!
Anyone heard anything on this “active situation” in Smyrna? All the cops seem to be clustered at the QT
So the forecast for Tues/Wed has gone from 5 inches to nothing to 2 inches. Shit is all over the place. I'm flying Monday night and getting back on Wednesday night. Seems like it'll be cold AF, lil worried about roads. Maybe I should take marta to the airport
More snow please (I’m so close to figuring out LetItSoak ’s address and I’ve got a flaming bag of poop with his name on it)
It looks like Macon down to Valdosta and over to Savannah and Brunswick is going to get a legitimate snow. Pretty nuts.
I really liked Wild Leap. Went there before the game against Georgia. Only downside was there wasn’t much else near it but it looked like stuff might have been under construction at that time. It wasn’t too crowded but they had a ton of TVs and the beer was good.
Northside Tavern (gives you access to good lunch spot corridor) then get to Signia Hilton bar (but I think its Notre Dame hotel and OSU is at the Westin) Park Bar is good but on other side of stadium. Wild Leap Brewery is good too.
If you’re taking MARTA from the airport area, Wild Leap is closest to the Garnett station. It’s not a bad spot and there’s a pedestrian bridge from the brewery towards the stadium (~10 minute walk).
It’s coming down pretty good over here in Loring Heights. Ground is still spotty but roads are getting worse by the minute.
Still almost nothing at the Galleria. Stuck around because I have to do a Zoom board call at 5:30 and weather looked pretty tame. These reports from Buckhead are not making me feel great about driving home, but it seems like the top end hasn't gotten much so the only possible issue would be Ashford Dunwoody to Peachtree. If all else fails I'll just crash Peachtree Golf Club for the night.
Fortunately I can almost walk home from the medical center stop instead of playing mad max on the highway
Sometimes on days like this I tell google to plan a car-less trip to my house that sits less than 1 mile from multiple MARTA stations. It's always a fun exercise.
Matched with a chick years ago on one of the apps and, when I asked what she was getting into that evening, she replied, “going to Buckhead Saloons.” So it’ll always be Buckhead Saloons, to me.
Just completed a 4.5 mile round trip stroll to get my daughter from daycare over in the highlands. Morningside was a shit show and my wife's car is currently residing in a random old man's driveway (who was very kind apparently)
