Clemson fans like to bang on kb, rightfully so, but our wr play last year was just not what have been accustomed to. Back at that elite level this year.
I remember back to chad Morris second season Athlon had the annonomyous coach blurbs on Clemson. One coach said it was the wrs that made our offense go. A lot of Clemson fans took offense to that but I think there is definitely something to it.
2nd best Drake
Losing ETN and Higgins last year didn't help either
Both QBs will be able to expose both teams on back end. Both RBs will be fairly neutralized.
Who can generate a pass rush that affects the QB? And which defense tackles a few of the explosive plays before the player reaches the endzone?
This game just seems so evenly matched on paper. I felt much more comfy facing a freshman Hurts.
If I may, I’d just like to say that I’ve enjoyed the discussions with most of our Clemson posters over these last four years. You sons of bitches are definitely more than Auburn with a lake.
Well we can change that
I’ll take back the nice things I said
I don’t like how our defense matches up this year. Bama spends a lot of time 3 wide and we don’t have a good matchup for the 3rd WR.
Everywhere else I think things are pretty even this year.
I think we could win, but would be kind of surprised if we did. It is kind of like the feeling I had before our first game in Phoenix.
It might shock you to hear this but Bama doesn’t have a kicker better than *checks notes* Adam Griffith was, so no onside kick. That said, Jaylen Waddle is just as, if not more, capable as Kenyan Drake.
We ended up playing much better, at least offensively, than I expected us to in Phoenix.
I will admit I didnt fully realize how good Watson was until that game.
I guess Lawrence could do the same thing, but I will have to see it.
It’s important to note that Dabo once started Cole Stoudt over Deshaun, so I think we know who has the edge in the coaching category.
And shoutout to skiedfrillet for preaching the power of Watson to me before he was ever the starter.
If Tua morphs into Jake Bentley then we are screwed...
But seriously, if we can't generate a pass rush, it will be a long night.
He refuses to play our best players so we can stay in the scrappy underdog role. Actually very smart if you think about it.
Calling it now just in case...Jalen TD pass just before time expires to win it. Full circle redemption.
That’s what Saban does with kickers. Lulls you into thinking they suck total ass and then boom, nine straight field goals made.
This is basically where I am. I believe we can win, but we’re going to have to play sharp as hell to do so. We certainly can’t afford to lose the turnover battle like we did in ‘16.
Good news is that Bama has a bunch of near interceptions and none of the real thing
Do you guys think Dabo asked the AD to schedule Auburn a multiple times because he has too much Bama in him and just loves beating Auburn?
Can't say I'd blame him.
Easy win, imo
Isn't there some bizarre Auburn/Clemson history? Where Clemson basically ripped off their school entirely?
They basically were a rough draft.
It isn't a question of will we drop interceptions it is a question of how many will we drop...by halftime.
Oh geez, is this going to be a battle of drops by our respective secondaries? We drop interceptions pretty regularly whenever we get a chance.
I actually liked going back and watching the coaches broadcast the next day.
Wow. Awful. I actually recorded our coaches film room for the OU game, but haven't watched it yet. Watch the entire rose bowl that way last year.
Be prepared for a lot of Herm Edwards.
Not sure if I'll even record this one now.
coaches room is always amazing
fuck that nfl crew
Hey we've got this ultra-successful beloved show, let's go ahead and get rid of it to push some of our shitty talking heads
This is the WOAT decision they've made
If you would be so kind, please drop them into the arms of our receivers. Thanks.
What, you don't like Booger McFarland giving his terrible small market am sports talk radio takes?
Jason Witten: “The thing that makes guys like Tua and Lawrence such good quarterbacks is that they’re able to throw the football to the open receiver as he’s running down the field. That’s really going to help both of these offenses score some points, Joe.”
He speaks so well for a former Vol.
The loss of Brown helps to cancel that out a bit. Lester Cotton is slightly better at pass pro, but Brown is waaaaayyy better at run blocking
Cotton held his own vs Clemson last year, and played really well against OU (though not really comparable.) I’m optimistic he shows up Monday.
Not surprising. Huggins had a good game vs ND, imagine he shows up on Monday to make himself a good amount of money in the draft
I mean we knew Dex was going to be out
If Cotton has the caliber game against vastly superior Clemson that he had against OU, I love our chances
Can’t believe the betting public would do us like that
You can't teach that either
Motion to make this thread #official and let the other one die
That was done when it was made. The only time the other one gets used is when the OP shamelessly bumps his thread.
Was shocked to hear your punter may suck more than our’s
I’d be shocked if any respectable program has a worse kicking game than us
