Offense is fucking helpless.
Running up 13 runs in a blow out then not hitting for the next five games should just be called "Indian'ing"
I enjoy watching Shane Bieber throw baseballs.
Nothing says CLEVELAND INDIANS BASEBALL like on the same day:
-Trading an All Star starting pitcher in his prime for a league average outfielder and a handful of non-elite prospects because he's a year away from arbitration
-Blowing a 6 IP scoreless start from your other All Star pitcher in his prime because your offense can only put up 1 run against maybe the worst team in the league
WE'RE TALKING TRIBEEEE
Jose is absolutely on fire right now.
That was like it was out of a movie tonight. What a way to clinch a playoff birth.
Ramirez and Bieber are the two top players by WAR in the AL right now.
Ramirez is #1 in MLB, Bieber is #4 in MLB and the top pitcher by 0.3 WAR (I assume tonight will be his last start of the regular season).
I can’t believe the 180 this team has made in a week. Couldn’t be headed into the playoffs with better momentum.
Especially if the draw remains the same and they face the White Sox. Not sure I want them at a higher seed with how well they’ve played them during the season.
Regardless, good luck in a three game series against this team when Bieber trots to the mound in Game 1.
I just hope they aren’t getting hot too early (see the long winning streak leading up to the playoffs several years ago).
Honestly wish they would have lost today. Would much prefer the White Sox (a team they dominated all season) than the Yankees.
Especially with home field being basically no advantage
Yeah, winning today just to earn the right to face Cole in Game 1 to offset our Bieber advantage feels like a punch in the nuts.
Fuck your pussy attitudes. We’re winning it all.
Yeah.... I'll just continue looking at the box scores on my phone rather than watch this slow death.
You pull Bieber after 4 IP and try to save him for 8-9 if we make it to Thursday? I dunno
Down three runs. Might as well be a dozen.
Some life, but man, how did Hernandez not get home on that double
I like this Naylor kid
Lindor is worthless at the plate right now
One play which should have been a fairly easy out, and now all our pet’s heads are falling off.
Hello darkness my old friend....
All-time managerial blunder there to yank Carrasco that early
Must be nice to have more than 2-3 players that can hit
Our best starting pitcher had his worst start of his career, our All-Star SS looks like a little leaguer, and our best reliever gives up a grand slam and walks two on 9 pitches.
Why did the 8th inning gimmick guy get rolled out it in the 4th?
Really missing Tito right now.
I never thought I would say it was the pitching staff which was primarily responsible for what the Indians are facing right now.
And some pretty big managing blunders.
What a piece of hitting by Jose, damn!
Jose is great but nothing like having a sub .200 hitter batting cleanup
Getting a base runner to third with zero outs and not being able to get him home during a tied game probably won’t come back to haunt a team. At all.
Pinch hitting for Naylor? What?
Pinch hitting for Naylor? YES!
Lol all of Cleveland Twitter just got old takes exposed
This shoot out stuff is not sustainable for this team. We cannot allow anymore runs tonight.
They're gonna blow it.
Get out of here with the Urshela double play then 0-2 single
Fuck Brad Hand
at some point we need to get real about addressing the AA caliber outfield we throw out there every year
That said, it's hard to be upset about this, assuming this score holds, because this franchise continues to overachieve. We've spent most of this window stripping away parts and forcing tito and the front office to MacGyver a winning team together
Fuck Paul Dolan
This must be what he meant when he said enjoy Lindor while he's here and please buy advertising with us
Dolan needs to sell the team. Pure stop.
We were trotting out Frick and Frack at OF all season long along with negative WAR catchers and a thin bullpen, by some grace of god we knew we'd be a lock for an expanded postseason just a month into the season, and were SELLERS at the trade deadline. By some miracle we continue to be a pitching factory growing Cy Young winners on trees and we have now sold THREE Cy Young caliber players for pieces / parts at various trade deadlines over the last few years.
Any sensible owners whose goal was to win a World Series would take a step back, realize we still have Lindor and Ramirez on offense, a great rotation with maybe the best current pitching asset in baseball (Bieber on a long-term cheap contract), and build around them and make the improvements we need to contend for the title next year. Instead, we're gonna trade Lindor to the Dodgers for their 11th, 17th, 34th, and 87th best prospects and talk ourselves into why some 2B we got in the deal named HR Pufnstuf is going to have a shot to really make an impact by 2024 if things go well. I'm sick of this.
Good try, good effort
