Hell of a team. Hell of a season. Enjoyed this season immensely. Just wished it ended any other way than hanging pitches to Stanton and Soto and the Yankees celebrating on our field.
The worst part of the evening was the Yankee fans celebrating in our section. Most of them were decent, but there are a few that needed the “NFL Fans Behaving Badly” treatment. Fun season, they need a starter or two going into next season and another big bat.
Pretty nice break that through 60 games the AL East has been weak except the Yankees If you assume both Houston and Seattle make it in, we'd only really have to just not finish last between the Tigers, Royals, Twins, and us to make the playoffs
Pitching has been much improved the last month. Not having a proven big bat in the lineup is still a concern, but Jose and Kwan help alleviate a lot of that. While I don’t see playoff sustainability with this roster, they’re fun to watch still. We’ve been to 4 games so far this season, and all of them have been enjoyable. The club section was packed on Mother’s Day.
If they're still in the hunt in a month they need to be really aggressive at the deadline. They probably won't but they should
Tough seeing Boyd pitching so great for the Cubs They need to get Bieber and Fry healthy and back to their normal selves, get something from DeLauter or Kayfus as a call-up, and still get another bat. Lineup two nights ago against NYY was pathetic
Lol, they're 7-18 and last in the league in runs since this post and Fan Graphs playoff odds down to 12.5% Sell the team
It would be really nice to give you fuckwits some shit, but you're so downtrodden that a cloud of dust was raised when I stepped into this thread. Jesus, the back half of your lineup is ass.
Pesky service clock? All of our minor league teams are winning outrageously and are stuffed with hitting prospects trying to find a way into a deep ML roster. After decades in the dust bowl, the clover is sweet. I'll revel for a while until we watch Skubal walk.
*outfielder gets hurt* Guardians FO: “I know our top prospect is an outfielder and tearing up Columbus, but it probably makes more sense to bring back up the infielder who struggles at the plate” I hate this team right now.
Matthew Boyd leaves in the offseason on a 2 year, $29m contract Matthew Boyd goes into the break an all-star for the Cubs at 10-3 with a 2.34 ERA and 1.03 WHIP after 8 scoreless innings at the Yankees
Rumor growing of Kwan and Clase to the Dodgers in a deal that wouldn't include their top prospect, Jose De Paula If that happens, will be hard to watch this team at all for a while
