I sympathize with Manziel. Some people just aren’t happy with the kind of life you need to live to be a pro athlete at that level. Everybody wanted him to be that, and most of us believe we would want that if we had his ability, but I think he knew, maybe even unconsciously, that it wasn’t for him and did some self-sabotage to free himself from those expectations.
