Its not a popular opinion im sure (and I know you are kidding) but if you choose to drink when you know these are the consequences of doing so, I think you may indeed have a drinking problem. But I am biased when it comes to that subject haha
This. Does anybody really have any doubt that the Browns were very much up front with Johnny about being caught in public drinking? Regardless of your position on him drinking, if your employer is asking you to do something like this it is well within their power to enforce it. They aren't suspending him without pay, the message is clear though. You had no more rope and now you lost your chance at earning our trust. Like most things in life (from a justice system to a parent disciplining a child) the amount of slack becomes less with each incident and Johnny had zero left with the Browns.
@SportsCenter: Johnny Manziel was benched and demoted in part because he lied to Browns about when his controversial video was taken. (via @FOXSports)
worse QB draft pick, tebow or johnny? id argue johnny pretty strongly, most knew tebow wasn't an NFL QB but at least he had the physical build and wasn't a fucknut. just couldn't throw straight. johnny just crashes and burns in all categories.
Tebow won a playoff game. But I can't say Johnny was a bad pick. He's panned out as well as 80% of the Browns first round picks.
This stat seems impossible to prove as well as idiotic bc the Browns have burned 1s on tomato cans like Weeden, Trent Richardson, Barkevious Mingo, William Green, Courtney Brown, etc.
Johnny has looked better than Tebow he just landed with a fucking disaster of an organization that just needs to be nuked from orbit
Tebow was on a pretty talented Broncos roster. Then Manning came in and it took off. Johnny has looked good but his OL can't block, his RBs can't find the right holes, and all of his WRs are either white or midgets who can't catch a cold and his coaching staff sucks dick
Johnny Manziel's time as the starting quarterback Cleveland Browns may not be through, and the second-year passer could be back in the huddle as early as next week against the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. While Manziel's return to the starting lineup is largely dependent on the performance ofAustin Davis, who nearly led the Browns to a victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, it has also raised questions about Mike Pettine's authority. The Browns head coach has been firm about his decision to demote Manziel to third on the depth chart, but Rapoport said some in the organization believe Pettine is just trying to "exert his presence." If Davis plays well, Pettine's decision to keep Manziel on the sideline can be validated, but if the team is forced to turn to its 2014 first-round pick again, it could further reveal a divide between the head coach and an organization that is 2-9 and has a healthy history of incompetence and impatience. Via Conor Orr of NFL.com: It seems as though the relationship between Pettine and the rest of the organization is not quite as simpatico as we're led to believe. When a team is this universally unhappy with a player, you often hear about a potential cut or trade. If Manziel's attitude is this detrimental in the eyes of everyone, why is he still on the team?
He did a "first down" hand signal after getting sacked in the endzone... facemask penalty bailed him out
Kyle Bridges @kbridge20 33m33 minutes ago Johnny Manziel's last 2 starts: 54-76 642 yards 2 TDs and 2 INTs, 71% completion rate, 7 carries for 35 yards
Looks like Mr. Cleveland himself was caught on (his own) camera trying to rap and also drinking Four Loko over the holiday weekend! http://bustedcoverage.com/2015/12/27/bc-tipster-johnny-manziel-had-another-fun-christmas/
That Dom in his hand there is a little better although he has the doucher staple glow in the dark bottle
Honestly played pretty decently today. There are many more spots on this team that can be criticized more than the QB play. Don't mind going into next year with McCown and Manziel at QB again, and spend the top 3 pick somewhere else and get Gordon back. Would be pretty pissed if him being an idiot costs him any chance going forward and we take the Memphis QB.
If your team's success is even slightly reliant upon Johnny Manziel and Josh Gordon not fucking up...holy shit you're gonna have a bad time.
Do we really have any other options? The whole team needs a massive overhaul. There aren't really any bright spots anywhere. I mean, we still have another game left in this pitiful season and it's already looking like it'll take a Herculean effort to go 7-9 next year. They've redefined keeping the cupboards bare.
I feel like this is the case at this point in the season each of the past, I dunno, 10 years? And then I think - pick a position, and get better it it. Any position. WR? DL? whatever. Pick one. Make a good draft pick, sign a free agent. It seems like you almost have to improve, just by luck, right? Accidentally draft a good player, mistakenly sign a guy who will out-play the current starter at their position. How can it be the opposite, and they find the worst guy in the draft, and sign terrible free agents? I know there are some other examples, it's not a 100% failure rate, but it's so close.
Is Manziel's first couple years in the league a lot different than Favre's? Jerry Glanville said he was such a train wreck that it would take a plane crash for him to put "Mississippi" in the game.
