I’ve built twice since 2012 and it seems like everything is pretty plug and play now. There’s also a ton of resources that hold your hand through the process.
I’ve built 3 in the past 5 years and haven’t had a single hardware problem. Play on pcpartpicker and buy from amazon or local and the hassle is extremely minor.
My next build is in an amazon wish list. I’ve placed it all in my cart like three times just for the rush.
I'll definitley build or buy something around the Ryzen 5 2600. It seems to be the most popular mid range processor.
You should absolutely cart/wish list at least to check price trends and also use camelcamelcamel to help determine when to buy. I would say the cyclical purchase habits center around graphics card releases.
Disco Elysium has been great so far, skill system is really unique. Don’t mind all the reading but occasionally I’ll have no clue the fuck someone is talking about concerning political theory or the worlds history
Pulled the trigger on a pre-built that was highly reviewed, and 50 dollars cheaper than a build with the same hardware. It arrives on Monday. I am excite.
Well, Amazon is dumb, but it's to my benefit. There's a few hardware variations to choose from with the model of PC I got. Amazon sent me the GTX 1660 Ti model instead of the regular ole GTX 1660. Fuck yeah.
I forgot how hard it is to pick up a new Paradox game. They have all the good ones on Game Pass btw, Stellaris, Imperator: Rome, EU4, etc.
Just want to say I’m jelly of anyone here who gets to play HL: Alyx. Think it’ll be a long while before I’ve got the pc and headset to give it a go
its all 4 players, but i think it can be forced to use only bots as the other three. also it has matchmaking, so you can play normally without having to find a group.
as someone who has been out of pc gaming for a while this is an insane batch of games for the price, going to buy and i dont even have a pc at the moment https://www.humblebundle.com/conquer-covid19-bundle
Dusted off my Thrustmaster HOTAS and fired up Flight Sim last night, still so much fun. Diving into Sturmovik next, once I finish Transistor that is.
Finally finished this. Started a new + eventually after clearing all the ?s and quests. Looking for something else now to pass the time.
Heard it was buggy at first but they've been fixing a lot of them. Also, apparently you could play as a baby, until they nerfed it (not my pic). Even baby-less, looks like a good game.
lol right? there's a video of the baby sticking a lance in a horse like a boss, its fucking hilarious
so would you recommend? Is the learning curve super steep? I want something fun but not something I have to dedicate my life to
I would watch a YouTube video with a play through to see what you think. It’s pretty unforgiving imo. It’s a race against time that ramps up in difficulty the more you play.
Been working through some of my backlog, ended up on Celeste yesterday, it's a phenomenal game. Hard as shit, and I'm still super early, but i love feeling like I'm just one quick reflex away from getting through a really tough stretch. It feels imminently fair, never cheap or cheat-y, the art style is awesome and it has a good story. Big fan.
Looking to get a computer to do some gaming, can anyone provide some specs I should be looking for or websites to start building? Budget would be somewhere between $1000-$1500
Building or buying pre-built? If you're buying, check out www.logicalincrements.com as well, that's what I used to build my current system. Does a good job breaking it down by part category and it's easy to see at a glance what you can get based on your overall budget.
