Founder’s edition 3080 and 3070 ti

 

And I guess I also have an ASUS 3070 ti in my cart, but that was just to see if I’d be able to get it. Those are way expensive for what you’re getting, but aesthetics and airflow, I guess

 

3080 FE is chef’s kiss. You have them in cart and aren’t planning on using them?

 

I am. It’s great. The endgame is ridiculous. But it’s your standard gated MMO. It is much faster paced though.

 

I ordered them through Best Buy. I have total tech, and they have an exclusive sale going on now. And nope, no plan on using them. I’m going to my hometown tomorrow and figured I’d see if anyone in the dfw, Austin, or San Antonio area wanted to get one off of me

 

I played tech alpha and beta and it’s pretty nuts. The endgame is basically dungeon encounters with bosses as well as simply giant areas with bosses. Some of them there isn’t an HP pool like Monster Hunter. It’s based around an item level etc like most MMOs as well.

DatModz is my favorite streamer on Twitch and he played the game when it was a Korea only release. He learned bits of Korean to play and was featured in an article in Korea. As such he was made an ambassador for the game. You can actually go to his stream on Twitch from yesterday and around the 10 hour mark see some of the endgame.

There are lots of encounters some very very technical especially as you get deep in it. To start lots of others allow for grace. Mechanically it’s similar to WoW encounters early on but towards the end it gets wild.

 

Wow. I’m tempted to get you to ship one. My 1080TI on an overclocked 4790K has had an excellent run. Haha

 

I forgot to mention there is also lots of PVP for those who enjoy that. It’s primarily Arena based.

 

He’s mellowed out a ton since he went full time. He also had a kid like 3 days ago.

 

My only problem with that is that I've never sold anything other than in person, so I'm not really sure what forms of payment are most secure. Same with shipping. I'll look into it and reach out to you if you like.

 

Let me also think on it. PM me the price if you don’t mind. Need to determine what I’m looking at for a new machine. It may not be feasible at the moment though having the card is honestly the hardest part.

 

Oh I'm not an upseller. The price would just be what I paid plus the shipping. I think it was 758 for the 3080 and 663 for the 3070 ti. Then shipping.

So, I bought 3 graphics cards:

3080 ti EVGA that cost 1602
3080 Founder's edition that cost 758
3070 ti Founder's edition that cost 663

These were bought yesterday from Best Buy and says they will be ready for pickup by this upcoming Wednesday.

I also have a 3080 EVGA 10gb that I had bought in case my friend's computer pooped out, but it seems like it's holding strong. That one cost 966 (shipping added a bit). Bought this one from EVGA.

I'm thinking the 3080 founder's edition may end up being for my brother, but the others I can part with. I'll probably try to make an effort to get one of the cards for jplaYa .

What were you looking for in particular?

Starting to realize that much of my enjoyment of pc games these comes from breaking and then fixing them.

Reinstalled FO4, modded the absolute shit out of it so that i could take about 3 steps before ctd, then spent a couple evenings staying up way too late tryna figure out script and navmesh errors. Fixed it late last night, the game looks stunning, has a ton of cool new features, and now I don't even really wanna play it.

There's no part of that gameplay that will bring me close to the exileration I felt when I fast traveled to Oberland station without crashing

Looking for a new game to play on my laptop. Been kicking around the idea of playing hearts
of iron 4. Would people recommend it?

 

I would recommend lost ark. Not graphically intense. Free to play, pay for convenience, lots and lots and lots to do. Definitely worth trying if you like that genre.

I watched some streamers play HOI4. They had fun. I’ve never played that type of game so it was a little overwhelming for me to watch.

Path of Exile is as good as it's ever been. ARPG.

 

I'm enjoying Lost Ark at the moment.

Anyone play Tarkov in here? I more or less got a PC for this exact game but I would love a squad to play with.

 

I play, but have taken a break for Lost Ark. I'm currently 41 and have loved this patch so much. It's been so good from a gear balance perspective.

 

I play it quite a bit and enjoy it. Probably a bit less accessible than Ck3 but much improved over the older paradox stuff. Some of the mods really help with realism and expanded play options. That said, the lack of tactical control really limits the fun after war actually breaks out imo.

 

I jumped in tonight for the first time...sheesh. Deep and confusing game off the rip. They kinda just drop you into nothingness and say learn it or die...a lot.

 

Hahahah oh man. Yes it’s a crazy steep learning curve. It’s so hard to come in mid wipe too. But recognize that and try and do some quests and come next wipe you’ll be more prepared and ready.

Progression of quests looks like this primarily.

Woods
Shoreline
Interchange
Reserve
Labs

Lighthouse just released this wipe. It’s a wild map. It falls somewhere around Reserve and Labs.

Treat Scaving like free exploring and money making. You can’t complete quests a a scav but you can find found in raid items used to complete quests. If that makes sense. Do not shoot anything as a scav unless you’re 99% certain they’re a PMC. You will get a karma penalty that sucks as a new player.

Have a map up on your second monitor until you get really comfortable.

The game is hard. Really really hard so don’t beat yourself up. My first wipe I played 10 raids and ran out of money and gear. Game was a lot different then but I quit haha. My first long wipe I hit like 30 had a 29% survival rateas a PMC.

This wipe I was 70% until you get to certain quest lines which frankly suck and you die a lot ha.

I played 20 years of counter-strike titles from lime 1999 to 2018 and after I picked up Tarkov I couldn’t go back. It’s ruined every other FPS for me which is both great and sad haha.

Also use the Tarkov wiki. It’s a priceless tool. With the new daily quest system too I find myself keeping a lot more loot on me.

My initial questions -

1. So I need to buy all the maps with in-game currency? Do they disappear if I die? I felt like I was just wandering around like an idiot...had no clue where the extractions were ever even though I did accidentally stumble on one.

2. I actually watched a tutorial and they mentioned the scav stuff so I ran that a couple of times AND played the bot matches to get used to everything. Definitely got a better feel for things...but once again had no clue where extractions were so I got stuck a couple of times.

3. I have a second monitor (new Dell but not a gaming monitor) but haven't set it up yet...sounds like this might be the perfect use for it (and scoreboards and discord etc.). Any tutorials you know of on how to set this up best? I am a mac guy for the last 10 years so I've never had a second monitor.

 

Kentucky Route 0, any opinions on this game?

 

1. you don’t need a map. They’re not worth using. Pull a map up on the wiki. The in game maps were made when the game was brand new and most have changed a lot. Sell to therapist.

2. Yeah a good point of reference is almost always your extract is on the opposite of the map you entered. Woods is sometimes weir because of where the spawns are but that’s correct a lot. Some maps also have extracts that aren’t 100% spawns. Sometimes they’re available and sometimes they aren’t. Old gas and ZB-12 (I think) are examples on Customs. Other extracts require power to be turned on and a key to be used like on ZB-13 on customs and SR keycard on interchange and d-2 on reserve

3. oh my word. Yes you need to have two monitors. I imagine you have a new computer so your graphics card will probably have a couple of HDMI ports or maybe an HDMI and a DisplayPort. DVI (white plug) is another possibility. You just need to plug it in and go displays in windows and detect it. Run your game in full screen mode and you can alt tab as needed.

Also, dumb question...what is a "wipe"? Is that like a season or current meta?

 

So every 5-6 months, the game resets everyone’s profile. You go to level 1 and lose your stash. Also be sure to log on the website and claim your account gift on the profile page each wipe.
Beginning of the wipe everyone is on the same playing field. Crappy gear, ammo, etc.

Now everyone is juiced with good gear/ammo.

Wipes usually coincide with content updates like new maps, map expansions, the addition of inertia, new guns etc.

This game is technically still in beta ha.

 

It will take you awhile to learn everything but good ammo is better than a good gun. Armor is equally important.

I struggled with gear fear a lot when I started playing. That means I would “save” my best gear for sometime later down the road. Then I’d get down the road and it would be equal to or worse than what I could get then after unlocking vendors.

My advice would be to just use a version of your best gear depending on the map and realize you’re going to die more often than not.

 

Do NOT kill scavs when you do scav runs. Unless they shoot you and actually do damage first. Then light them up.

 

I just got to lvl 15 for the first time. Your guns are going to suck for awhile, for the most part.

Make sure you claim the bonus thing on the battlestate games website. Log in to your profile, scroll down, and there should be some Christmas thing

I still haven't touched that SCAR though

 

Also collect those knives. I think 8 brown gets you an mp5 from peacekeeper and 7 black gets you a ump

The ump is stupid good when you're low level

 

Oh and right click, "linked search" will tell you which ammo, mags, and other stuff you can buy from vendors for a certain gun

Sometimes you have to do it on a specific part, like the dovetail mount on the op sks

Btw this game is stupid and it will only make you mad

 

ive been having a lot of trouble recently with the size of my mousepad. like do i want to be able to aim relatively well or spin as far as needed, can't do both.
