Traveling to events and the downtime before and after are a whole lot more enjoyable with it, assuredly. Playing GameCube versions of metal gear solid has been enjoyable, and the older snes and game boy advanced games for nostalgia. I play much less than I used to, and I feel like having the steam deck has helped me choose to play games I enjoy more. That July/August date is just around the corner, really, you’ll love it. I’ll post some videos in a bit that helped with emulation
Appreciate it. Really looking forward to having a ‘Super Switch’. Being able to play a handful of bigger AAA titles, and then emulating my favorite games from the past, sounds beyond ideal, especially with travel.
I want a new GPU so bad, but need to be patient for the new releases. Plus, my 2070S is fine, and idk how to resell. could keep it and run two GPU and use the 2070 for mining, lol.
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/bundles/bioshock-the-collection Free Bioshock.. not sure if posted.
Does anyone play Inscryption? Space got me to download it last night. Honestly, it's a wild game. It's like a better Slay the Spire with a story and crazy depth. I completely suck at it right now.
I beat the Miner last night but have gotten rocked in the Wetlands each time. Those fucking birds that can "avoid" attacks just beat me up.
Love Slay the Spire, Haven’t completely finished Inscryption but one of my favorite games I’ve played in the past few years. I did the bundle where I got all of that developers games.
If anyone likes Tarkov/Hunt style games, Cycle might be your jam. I did a lot of the play test so happy to run with anyone that wants to try it out
It ran super smooth yesterday afternoon...did about 4-5 solo drops and never had a frame rate dip or disconnect etc. Game is the combo of Tarkov game, Valorant graphics, Apex-ish movement, and Destiny style home base. Really enjoyed it. Down to team up ASAP for a couple of drops cause it's spooky going solo.
Devolver Digital isn't the publisher we deserve, but they are the publisher we need. Another batshit crazy, highly entertaining presentation by them today. They have some really cool games too.
I'm a weirdo who still plays Civ games from time to time and really enjoys strategy games... are they any newer ones out there that y'all would recommend?
Depends on how deep you want to get and what you like about the strategy genre. I don't have the time to play them these days but of course I keep up on everything in gaming, you've got your crazy deep stuff like Crusader Kings 3 or Europa Universalis. Humankind is very new and seems very Civ-like as well. There's lots of 4X space strategy games like Stellaris, Shadow Empire, and Endless Space 2. Warhammer 40K : Gladius - Relics of War is very specific to if you like that universe, but a ton of folks do
Oh yeah definitely not going to pre-order. Thought the price point at $30 was interesting. Definitely gonna check this game out as the betas, demos, etc continue to release.
Also, had the deck for 2 weeks now. I think it’s a great companion to a pc. I like the tinkering as well
I need a new single player game to play. Just built the PC recently, have been playing a ton of Tarkov, Ready or Not, Civ, and AOE… but I need something deeper with preferably good graphics. Also, need a multiplayer game to play with my buddy. Anything that is similar to Green Hell/Forest, Destiny, Mil-Sims, Survival games, etc.
The Last of Us Part I will be out on PC before the end of the year it seems, one of the best single player adventure games there is.
Just got Hades and Disco Elysium for under $30. Why have I been a strictly console gamer to this point?
Also God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn are both highly playable and enjoyable story driven singe player games from PlayStation, either one will give you 30-40 hours of gameplay.
I played the first couple hours, having a hard time caring about the main character, such a terrible dude. I need to give it more time. Citizen Sleeper is kinda similar with a better plot so far, but scifi is more my jam. I Know once I dive in to DE I'll enjoy it
It’s really hard to explain. It’s like an episode of Barry without much Noho Hank, especially this season. Extremely dark, still comedic, and truly incredible. The VA is some of the best I’ve ever heard and it’s like reading a long book and having it read to you at the same time. It’s story driven and can be as deep as you want it to be. The characters are unique some which you like and some you loathe. I bought it before they got the huge update early last year which added tons more of VA and didn’t play it much. I had two kids in quick succession and knew it wasn’t going to be finished so I watched a Let’s Play with a guy who has a passion for these types of games. I think he had almost 200 hours before it ended. I was able to do that holding infants at 3AM with earbuds in and it was kind of my thing to get through some of the longer nights. It’s a massive project. I think if you get into it and feel it’s not for you after 10-15 hours, that’s fine. I would walk away if you’re not enjoying it because it’s the kind of game where you really have to invest lots of time to get there.
good evaluation, I am pretty sure I would enjoy it if I can sink enough time into it, i bought it so I am going to eventually play it, now or in 20 years. I remember those days of trying to get the kid to sleep, laptop on one knee while trying to remain absolutely still so the kid doesn't wake up, good times.
Crypto prices need to stay low through this fall to keep GPU prices down for the RTX 40XX series launch. Seems like we're heading towards the bottom on current GPUs, going below MSRP in many instances.
Tarkov load times are excruciating. I tried for like 30 minutes yesterday to get a Scav run and couldn't do it. I guess its just that everyone is jumping on post-wipe.
Tip that I saw from landmark is not doing the auto select servers, and manually selecting all of the US servers. I haven’t had a scav run loading screen take longer than 4 or 5 minutes
my aim is average or below average normally. when shooting teammates it's like pro level. i 1-tapped one to the head with a toz from like 40 yards away last wipe
I’m going to be in the market for a new PC here in a year or so. Going to do another full build. Where is a good resource to learn what the hell the difference between a AMD and Intel CPU and where to go to find which CPU actually meets my needs? Last time I just used PC Partpicker and just used stuff that had good reviews that was in my price range.
Just saw that Best Buy had both 3070s and 3070ti in stock for MSRP and decided to grab a 3070. Feel like it should be pretty future proofed on a 1440p screen now though I'd probably had popped for the 3080 if it wasn't sold out.
