Yeah not sure why they didn't try to utilize Kaep's legs more. But credit the Ravens outside of second down as they blitzed and forced throws.

Beat themselves and the refs weren't calling shit both ways. Combination of the 2.

I agree. I'd have liked to have seen the Niners run the ball inside at the end, especially with Ngata out of the game.

2 timeouts and less then 2 minutes in the game clock, yet we pass the ball.

Just before the TO there was a QB run call with Gore as the lead blocker.

And, no, I will not say 'good game' to the Ravens.

Plus, the Ravens did the same thing at the goal line before the half. You could've guessed that was coming and maybe run a quick slant instead. But, I'm just playing Monday morning quarterback.

Thought we should've run it on second down with Gore after the two minute warning, only thing I would've done different there especially since Ngata was out. On third and fourth I don't mind two throws to Crabs who's been money in the red zone all year.

Terrible playcalling by Roman at the end. Really inexplicable.

That non-call on fourth down was just hideous, though. I mean, why even have refs on the field if you're not going to call that? It looked worse and more blatant with every replay.

The delay of game that almost happened would have been a TD, now question in my mind.

I would have loved to see a variation of the first Gore TD play, except this time Kaep would keep the ball and follow the flow.

In my opinion the biggest issue was the lack of pass rush. Aldon disappeared and not having Justin healthy was big but no pass rush is on the priority list to address.

We were fortunate of a non call that typically gets called too. I mean the hit on Flacco I was just waiting for the flag to come out.

Too many unforced errors at the end of the day. The offsides and illegal formation to start the game costing us major momentum and added 4 to the Ravens and the miss wide open TD to Crabs or Moss when we settled for our first field goal.

It sucks as I honestly think we were the better team just killed ourselves all night and couldn't make plays when needed.

I too was really annoyed with that huge missed opportunity at the beginning of the game (lining up in the wrong position). And of course the fumble when we were moving the ball easily.

But it was a good year lads, back to back NFC West champs and NFC champs this year, we should have an open window for another few years.

Kaep certainly looks like he has a huge future just tough in the league to assume you will get back quickly.

You called it as well as I could have. To elect to recieve in the first half was a curious decision, and it hurt them. The offsides by Brooks and the missed pass to Crabs or Moss is an 8 point swing. Maybe a 9 point swing when you consider the Niners probably wouldn't have had to attempt a two point conversion after Kaepernick ran it in for their final touchdown. And Culliver, ugh, fucking Culliver. If it wasn't giving up two big ballon passes to Boldin or Jones it was a missed tackle on Ed Dickson or a pass interference to keep a Raven's scoring drive alive.

the ravens were attacking kaep almost exclusively on every zone read

  24. Bar None

    Bar None Maintaining Integrity

Yeah, they were. It was especially apparent when Suggs hit Kaep after a hand off to Gore, where Suggs was clearly committed to Kaep before the handoff. It also opened up holes for Gore and James.

I didn't mind the play-calling at the end, just wished they'd have run it inside more. They may have scored if they'd have got that one play off.

UODuck69 I am not a fucking new member.

    1. Flacco played great game and they caught the ball when it counted
    2. You can't keep getting behind and expect to pull it out.
3 We were not ready to play the game, the Ravens got physical and we didn't answer until too late.
    4. And the most important, Culliver and Moss needed to shut up before the game, both were awful during it.
    5. We got killed by the calls at the end of the game, but if we had played to our ability they wouldn't have mattered.

I come away with this, I was disappointed in how we played until the second half, but liked how we didn't fold.

    Our weaknesses showed
We need another pass rusher that plays opposite to Aldon, and at minimum can replace Justin. Draft choices and Alex for Ansah.
We need to go after Revis, Culliver can't take on the number 1 WR, he needs to cover Carlos's side. Carlos need to be traded with a ton of picks to get Revis.
Find a kicker, Akers misses too many FG and is terrible for kick offs.
    Moss has to go.

Other than that I was OK with how we played in the second half.

Have to say the end of this game reminded me of The Big Game the last time Cal won. Cal's d was pretty gassed by the end of the game, and Gerhart was pretty much running at will on the last drive. Roman/Harbaugh try to get too cute/overthink and Muhammad makes a red zone pick to save the game for Cal. Would have loved to see Gore or Kaep get a shot at the goal line there at the end. That said, Baltimore played better than Atlanta, you can't keep digging big holes in the first half and come out on top every time.

Was watching a replay of the last set of downs. When we ran the roll-out pass, the back side of the field was wide open. The DE was sealed and we had Walker out there to block the OLB. If Kaep cuts back, he walks into the end zone.

Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda, but just pains me to see the chances missed.

Also after the fumble, when the throw to Ginn was broken up, Davis was wide the fuck open in the end zone.

Lots of self-inflicted wounds for you guys. Fumble, INT, and offsides that ALL lead to TDs. Then you went and allowed that KR return. Pretty amazing you had a chance to take the lead in the end there. I hate Ray Lewis so I was pulling for you guys by default. On the replays, it looked to me that defensive holding could had been called on that 4th down throw to Crabtree.

I know we're all just big fans and don't get paid what Harbaugh and Roman does to run an offense, but jesus christ, when it's that obvious to everyone that you should've run the ball, there's something wrong. Ravens D was gassed, we had em on the ropes and we let them off the hook plain and simple.

Chris Culliver needs to die of AIDS.

Alex will bring back something of value in a trade, if not Revis, then enough pieces to then flip for a good corner. Also only played 13 guys on D all night...looks like we could use some depth across the board.

Is it a depth issue or just a preference by the coaches?

i reckon it would be pretty difficult for any coach in the heat of the moment at the super bowl to take your best players off the field

Woodson i think the price tag would be cheaper and you are able to play him at safety or corner . Revis is coming off a torn ACL as well

I would love to have Revis. It would take our defense, potentially, to a whole new level. More coverage sacks ( did we have any of those in the last 6 games? ) for sure.

But if he still wants as much money as he gets now, and we have to sacrifice other players, it's not worth it to me.

  49. NorCalBear

I would love to see us grab Woodson (for relatively cheap), he's got some left in the tank, has a lot of knowledge and veteran leadership and most importantly, is versatile, can fill in where needed.

Would then love to see us go hard after the NT out of Utah, or address the DL via free agency. Getting Revis would cost a lot, and would hinder any other move we wanna make, of course I would love to have him though.

Revis would cost too much and Woodson cant play CB anymore.....but we definitely need some young lanky CBs ala Seahawks......DL depth, we can trade up in 1st round and land Star or Sharif Floyd than do it!
