But it's so stupid. You guys still won't be able to compete in division. Last year you guys had 34.2 winning % in division and a 47.6% outside the division. The problem for you guys right now is you're in the best division in baseball besides maybe the AL east and that's not changing next year. If anything both the Cardinals and Cubs will likely be better.

It’s damn sad that a flagship team like the Reds are run like they are. Like you said earlier they fucked up so bad by not rebuilding earlier. We’ll look back on this year the same a few seasons from now as “We were no where close to contending to make the moves we made”

We know, trust me. Its completely stupid. We don't have the roster to compete, and adding a few players here and there while gutting the farm system is going to exacerbate the issue. But Castellini and the Paste eaters in the fan base don't see it that way.

I'm fine with trading some prospects for pitchers if they're signed for 3+ years. Trading our prospects for hitters seems pointless though. We already have a good lineup and we're always going to have a good offense playing half our games at GABP. Hamilton's $10 million is off the books and Homer's contract is up after this year. No reason they can't get a good to solid pitcher in free agency. Hopefully the new coaching staff can get more out of Castillo and Mahle (and to a lesser extent Romano, Stephenson and other guys like Finnegan).

They've got another top 10 pick in the draft next year so they either need to take a college pitcher with it or take a college bat you plan to trade. India paired with another top 10 pick and some other lesser prospects should be able to get you a Latos-esque trade, a good younger pitcher who's under contract for multiple years. If it was me though I'd wait on making that trade since we're clearly multiple years away from contending.

Had a 3 WAR last year. Considering they gave up practically nothing, I like it.

I will say I picked up Roark last year in fantasy as a stop gap when some of my SPs were injured and I ended up holding on to him the whole year.

    I like this trade

I'm an Orioles fan but do follow them. He was good a few years ago, now he's incredibly average.

Also just learned that he's 32 thought he was mid to late 20s.

If we give up Senzel and Trammell for a guy that turns 33 in April I’m renouncing my fandom

I mean I know the Dodgers did it to clear space for Harper but I just can’t believe the reds are the beneficiary.

“Even though Homer Bailey and his buyout will cost $28 million, the tax hit is just $17.5 million.”

Like the trade alot. Gotta think winker and senzel/trammel are potentially the big chips for Kluber or bauer now with the crowded outfield.

    Don't want realmuto at all.

I'd rather hold on to Trammel, to be honest. We don't have a major league caliber CF in our system, and he actually profiles to be someone who can get on base and hit a little bit. Senzel is good, but nowhere to play and hasn't been able to stay healthy.

I’d rather honestly hold onto all of them and I know it sounds cliche but respect the process. Selling the farm system off for an extra 20 wins or so still doesn’t get us were we need to be.

I like the trade. Gave up little in terms of prospects and it will make the team a lot better in 19. Best case scenario we compete for a wildcard spot and can offer a one year tender to Wood to get a draft pick. If the team doesn’t perform well all of these guys plus Scooter are on one year deals and can be dealt at the trade deadline.

I think they’re going to make one more deal still, probably for a starter under control for a couple years. Hope we only give up one of Trammel or Senzel in that trade, or neither if possible. We now have over $50 million coming off the books after this year with all these guys on one year deals. I think they’re going to see how this season plays out and then spend that money to keep some of these guys or go get new ones.

Since they now have 4 outfielders and have shown no interest in extending him, they might include Scooter in a trade. His value may never be higher and it opens a spot for Senzel.

While an upgrade in our rotation, he won’t be as good as he was pitching in Oakland or NY. Two big stadiums. Great American Smallpark, he’s not going to be the same pitcher.

Oakland is a big park but yankee stadium isnt, it gives up tons of homers especially down the lines. Our new pitching coach coached Gray in college at Vanderbilt so I’m sure they’re hoping he can get more out of him. Going from the AL to the NL always helps too. I wouldn’t hate signing him to an extension if we can get him for a decent price.
