Imagine going back into work after this
Opening day is always one of my favorite days every year. This year seemed to be the craziest and most crowded I’ve ever seen.
Well it is a pretty nice wheel.
Any chance they get this game in today? I’ve got to swim some laps at the pool and hang some blinds. Just figured it would get rained out so I’ve been taking my time...probably need to get on the stick to watch the game at 2.
Rain has been kinda on and off all day. Guess it depends on radar at game time.
Shocker. Winker got benched....
Be nice if Senzel got healed up, spent a few games at center in the minors, and then locked up CF for the next decade.
Hey if I’ve got to put those blinds on the back burner to watch the pregame for a few hours the wife will understand right?
Damnit, gonna start on those blinds....
Saying Sonny Gray struggled in his Reds debut would probably be giving him too much credit.
Stephenson in now, not looking too shabby.
We are .500 and last game was no bueno
Pelican beat me
We're tied in the ninth
Ugh, fucking Schebler.
As I posted in the MLB thread: glad we wasted 6 months hoping Greene's injury would just magically heal. The Reds, and their medical team, are a bunch of idiots.
I guess the only positive here is worst case he goes back to shortstop
I ended up dropping Winker on my fantasy team, here’s to hoping Senzel is worth benching on my team.
Winker is a good hitter, I'm confident he'll get it together. He needs to be playing everyday. Kemp and Puig aren't going to be on the team past this year anyways but I hope they start hitting so we can trade them. Schebler sucks.
Puig also has all 3 of those hits
I really hope we can keep Puig. Doubt it happens though.
Would be wonderful if this pitching continues all season.
We’re 9th in ERA. Small sample size but if we can keep pitching like this I feel like our bats will pickup and we could have a shot at .500. On paper we should be good at hitting. Sucks with Scooter out
I'm willing to bet Schebler gets sent down once Senzel gets called up. I really wish they would add to their bench instead of loading up a bullpen. We are only a week into the season and we have already seen in games where the short bench puts us in a predicament with pinch hitting.
Is there any word on Senzels injury? I just tried searching his name on Twitter and the results were a bunch of retards not understanding how MLB contracts work and saying he wouldn’t have gotten hurt if he started over shitty Schebler
I'm not sure. I haven't heard anything and can't find much either.
I don't think they can send Schebler down. He's not a young player so I'm guessing he's out of options. He should just be a bench guy but I'm sure they'll still rotate him in the outfield.
Senzel got hurt over a week ago and they said he'd be in a walking boot for 1-2 weeks, should get an update sometime next week. I think when he gets back to being healthy he'll still play a couple weeks in the minors to get his swing back. I'm guessing he's not a Red until May at the earliest.
Manipulating Senzel's service time isn't really necessary since we already control him for essentially all of his prime. Now it'll just be tougher to lock him in to a team friendly deal if that's something the Reds want to do in the next 12 months, ie Acuna or Eloy Jimenez.
The guy is already almost 24 years old and is obviously a better hitter than Schebler. No reason he shouldn't have started the season in Cincinnati.
I didn't really care one way or another what they did. As a small market team it was smart to keep him down and Schebler outperformed him in spring training. Then he ended up getting hurt and it became a moot point anyways. He needs to be up and playing everyday as a Red when he's healthy though. He would help sell tickets and help the team with his ability to play CF and 2B while Scooter is out.
We haven't scored in 19 innings
I don’t understand why this team can’t hit the ball. They raked most of last yr just couldn’t pitch. Now this season it’s the opposite
Seems like this has been our M.O. the last few years, we’ll have spurts of both but never at the same time.
Can’t wait til we start hitting and lose games 10-7
1-5, we’re gonna be out of the playoffs by the middle of May again...
Puig my friend!
With Iglesias struggling and Stephenson dealing I wonder if it’s time to make that switch?
