I had thought about it. By the way, for streamers... I watched yesterday’s game on sportsurge.net. Not bad quality at all.
I really hate that we are in the same division as you guys because as an opposing fan who lives in Cinci they are really easy to like. Love Castellanos and that homer was a shot tonight. Ballpark was awesome to be in again tonight and I'm looking forward to going again in 4 weeks when the Cubs are back in town.
Love Castellanos. He's probably going to opt out of his contract if he has a good year, so let's all enjoy him while he's here.
In 2020, Jesse Winker led the team with a .255 BA. The team batting average was 212, dead last in baseball. Through four 2021 games, which trends surely will continue, the Reds are 4th overall at .279.
Reds also had the worst BABIP (.245) in 2020 by over 20 points which indicates they were largely unlucky. Things are evening out this year
In everyone’s opinion what moves Suarez off Short? If we are committed to India, what other options do we have?
If India hits then you put up with Suarez's terrible defense. Our only other options are playing Farmer or Blandino there, both of whom are bench guys that aren't natural SS's and can't hit. Or we call up Garcia who plays great defense but can't hit. I think they want Garcia to get regular playing time in the minors to try to improve his bat. He'll probably get called up midway through the year or later. He can be a great defensive sub late in games. Playing Suarez at SS just makes the lineup so much better which was our biggest issue last year.
I'm not saying Farmer should play SS, but he's played primarily SS his whole life. He played SS for 4 years at Georgia, but was drafted as a catcher.
We’ve got ourselves a logjam in the OF when Winker and Shogo come back. People may not like this but I’d put Winker at 1st....
I feel like the people would like it, Joey wouldn’t. it’s the classic example of a team paying for their players. The reds messed up 2010-2015 about as bad as anyone could of. extended a 1st baseman, and traded assets too late.
If Joey doesn't hit well he should definitely become a platoon player. I doubt it happens though considering Bell is hitting him 3rd for some reason, plus Castellini would probably never agree to benching him.
Hard to believe when Winker and Shogo get healthy that’ll we’ll have to sit 2 of Shogo, Winker, Senzel, and Naquin. All while Votto is hitting .167 at 3rd in the lineup.
Yeah there’s no excuse to hit Votto third. He should also start platooning this year if he doesn’t start hitting. Don’t care what he’s done in the past or what he’s paid, lots of other players can be thrown at 1b. The bad defense bit them in the ass tonight. Lots of players with very limited range. Still can win the series tomorrow.
Agree with this. I will always love Joey Votto, but he hasn't been good for the past 3 or so years. No reason to hit him 3rd and start him every day if he continues to slump
I'm afraid to change anything at this point, to be honest. But at some point if this keeps up, it's going to have to be made TMB official.
On April 13, 1954, the Cincinnati Reds played their first game using a new official team name, the Cincinnati Redlegs. The Red Sox already was taken and the team changed the name from the Reds because Powell Crosley Jr. didn’t want the team associated with Communists. It was the official team name from 1954-1959.
Another blown game by our shitty bullpen. Glad our cheap owner dumped Iglesias and Bradley just to save money this year. Fuck you Bob
he had nasty stuff and shouldn’t of been traded. But I never felt as good as I should with him coming in.
Just having Iglesias and/or Bradley would mean Simms and Garret could pitch the 7th and 8th innings or the 6th and 7th innings. Right now they're the 8th and 9th inning guys and our middle relievers are all a bunch of retreads who stink. Antone is great but when he pitches for more then one inning he obviously can't go everyday. Especially with how quick Bell pulls his starters a good bullpen is a big need. If we stay in contention a bullpen arm isn't that hard to pick up via trade. But dumping two proven guys just to save money when you claim you want to have a winning team is such a shitty look.
