Apparently Eugenio Suarez is a free agent after this season and he might get traded before the deadline. Wonder if we try and trade for him or sign him in the offseason. I'd imagine the latter is more likely but we probably won't. He's also a terrible fielder but if we're going to have .230 or worse hitting and shitty fielding I'll at least take the guy that can jack 30-40 HRs in a season.
My power is out so I’m watching on my laptop via hot spot. Duke is on their way to fix the branches on the power line here. If it’s pissing rain like this at the stadium this crew working on the power lines have about 15 minutes to get this wrapped up or they’re working in that same rain lol
It’s time to get Chase Burns on the big league roster. Dude is dominating and increased his pitches to 88 last night. Greene Burns Abbott Lodolo Martinez - (hopefully Rhowder soon and send Martinez to BP) And still have Singer
I’m not sure there is a better pitcher in baseball right now than Abbott. He allowed three hits in seven innings and retired the last 17 batters he faced. He’s 7-1 with a 1.79 era. Pagan got his 18th save.
How many HRs would Aaron Judge hit in a season if he played his home games at GABP? I didn’t even think to bet that but figured it was coming
Jim Day just said: Marte and Hays are headed to Chattanooga for rehab. Bats are in St. Paul and it's supposed to rain so that's why they're going to AA. Graham Ashcraft is on track to return at the end of his 15 day IL run. Greene is supposed to return to the team during the series against the Red Sox (next week).
Pagan with his 19th save. No one has saved 40 since Cordero in 2010. We’re still 2 games from the 81 game midpoint of the season. He had one save last year and 13 in the last five years combined.
Looks like Martinez is a bullpen guy now, which is something that I like to see. Get everyone healthy and we're looking at: Greene Abbott Lodolo Singer One of Lowder or Burns being good. If both are good that's very great Ashcraft Pagan Martinez Santillian Suter
Paul Skenes leads the league with a 1.85 ERA. Andrew Abbott has an ERA of 1.79 but isn’t eligible to be on the list. To be eligible you must have 1 inning pitched per team game. Abbott is at 75 innings and we’re at 79 games.
We shouldn't be trading any of our pitchers. None of the young guys have shown they can consistently stay healthy and the two vets will be gone soon. Martinez is a free agent after this year and Singer is after next season. Give up some of our lower-level younger prospects (Stewart, Collier, Arroyo, Duno, ect.) for the much-needed bat.
I just hope we do something smart with the money we’re paying Martinez this year. Grab a .270 hitter and a reliever or two. It would also be nice to dump Candelario’s worthless ass and his $15m/yr salary. He still has this year and next.
He was but I think his rehab in minors was going poor enough that yesterday they DFA’d him. So technically they have a few days to try to move him but no one is touching that salary so he’ll sign on the cheap somewhere possibly once he clears waivers
If that rookie learns to command his third and fourth pitches reliably y’all have something special. Should probably learn a two seamer or a cutter. But dude is legit talented as fuck.
This is a brutal stretch in the schedule, with SD, Philly and Boston up next. Awesome to win a series against the Yankees.
My buddy is a Yankees fan and came over to watch last night with me. We have been going back and forth on Paul Skenes about keeping him trading him. After Chase stuck out the 5th I said put that man in bubble wrap and go get me 3 bats (I was kidding….sorta)
Found Nomad Gamecock ’s house on observatory ave. Sign in the yard about a student going to South Carolina next year.
