Instead of whipping in corners against these mutant defenders wouldn't they be better off just taking possession
Fire bumhalter the moment the whistle blows and force him to fly home commercial. Or just plant drugs on his bag at the airport and save the buyout
Honestly getting a central defender or 2 from the transfer portal wouldnt be a bad idea either, like the midfield of you guys though
Speaking of the Dutch, I bumped into Jutta Leerdam on the internet the other day and not bad, not bad at all.
Robinson leaving a man wide open back post a far bigger issue on that goal As was no one closing down the space and letting Blind have all day to pick out a pass. No GK is doing anything with that
You don't know a damn thing about set pieces. We hired a coach just for set pieces. It doesn't matter that not a single one of them had any significance or impression on the game. Sending in weak unimaginative crosses to no one and never creating a shot on goal over and over and over and over and over again will eventually work.
I say this every World Cup but what I always take away is how much better every other country is at touches. Just watching them and pretty much every pass is on point. To me it’s the fundamentals that always kill us. Touches, marking a man, closing in on d, etc.
I think the first 2 goals came from being mostly out coached (pressing to deep corner and crisply passing to space with perfect runners in position) and a BIT sloppy and the third came purely from stepping on our own dicks and being sloppy as nuts the cause of our offensive woes are largely stated in other posts today
I was at a bar so audio was kinda muddled but whoever said that essentially the Dutch had “3 good looks and 3 conversions” vs…uh, whatever the fuck it is we do in the final 3rd (my words)…. That felt spot on
I think Netherlands had five shots in target. 3 goals. And the 2 back to back saves by turner that easily could have been a goal.
The whole buildup and concession before half is on Ream. He had comfortable possession of the ball in the 46th minute and he misses the mark badly with a pass and then gets outrun on the transition which subsequently ends in a goal. Total back breaker there.
Euro academies and essentiallly South American ghettos >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shit American development until they're 18 and can go to Europe
It’s mostly first touch too. You watch those South American guys and it’s like they have velcro on their feet/bodies. USA has trouble maintaining possession on anything over short passes.
Both true, of course back then we had a greater than 0% chance at scoring on set pieces. Pulisic's service is and has always been a fucking joke.
