EEAAO was form over function to me. Too quirky for its own good. Completely lost any sense of stakes with the universe hopping and I just couldn’t stay with it at the level of engaging with it more than just an interesting genre / stylistic exercise. Nothing against the film (it was fine!), but kind of baffled by all the over the top love for it. Tar and Banshees were the best two films of the year and Top Gun should have won if they wanted to do a fun tip off to a film essentially saving movie theatres
