I thought the whole Italy convo was weird, and then when Luca pretty much mentioned the exact same thing to her about going to Italy to get away i realized her cousin was probably forced to go speak with her and persuade her to leave. She's doing a great job portraying someone who's legitimately crazy
Liked episode 1 . Only weird thing was he was tied up in a chair , then the car crashes into the house, then they just let him go. They just skipped over all that. Even if he has an alibi cause they framed someone else, I still don't think they'd let him off that easy. Also this show is so damn dark it's almost too dark. But at the same time I really liked it.
"Let him off" for what? He literally gave them the body in the most believable packaging possible. His alibi didn't even matter at that point.
FWIW I have a feeling there's gonna be several more occasions (we've had one each episode now) where he weasels his way out of deep shit. As long as the weaseling was as believable as it was the first 2 times, I don't care how often it happens.
I’ve seen a few people that have seen the whole series say episode 4 and on is when it kicks off so I’m excited about that. These first two episodes have been great IMO.
In the “about the show” after the first episode one of the showrunners mentioned that his wiggling out of dangerous situations is a really important part of developing the character so I expect we will see quite a few more.
Damn. Loved that episode. The acting is so good. That opening gave me chills. Farrell talking in the parking lot was so good.
Being a capo without being a made man is…very unlikely (also pretty sure Cobblepot isn’t an Italian surname). Other than that, this show has been pretty great.
I love that they fleshed out Victor's story to add a little depth to him besides just being a car thief that got caught in the act. Kid has been crushing it with that role. I'm glad they're giving him a lot of doubt and internal conflict transitioning to a gangster and didn't have him dive right into it with no moral compass. Got a pretty believable stammer too
He’s acting a lot with his eyes if that makes sense. It’s so good. Him and Milioti looked like they were about to cry in that last scene. Good emotion.
Pretty sure she asked him what he got for betraying her and she said capo and he doesn’t say anything to deny or refute.
Well there’s a chance Cobb could be- lots of Italians had their last names anglicized when they came through Ellis island. Grew up with a kid whose last name was Guglimotta, but half his family were Motts
I was racking my brain trying to remember where I knew that guy from (still need to finish the last season of The Expanse) This show is fantastic.
This show has been a pleasant surprise. Didnt really know what to expect, but Im really liking this. Esp w no other big sunday shows on right now
That was just a fantastic episode. While I have enjoyed the series thus far that episode really brought it up a level.
1) I hope this works out for Cristin Milioti like GoT worked out for Emilia Clark, cause what a performance from her 2)
