xbox 360 won the generation early due to games like halo 3, fable, early gears games. even bioshock was xbox exclusive for over a year. then halo 4 happened, fable stopped, gears went downhill meanwhile sony started doing things like uncharted and tlou.
True. I'm just saying Sony has won every generation they have been a part of outside of that gen. And even then they basically tied even though they fucked up at every conceivable turn. They have 3 of the 5 best selling consoles ever. I think they are just better at this than MS.
I would agree they’re much better at games than Microsoft, I own both consoles, and I much prefer (which I understand is a personal preference) the Microsoft eco system to Sony’s. Meaning user interface, game pass options etc. where Microsoft got dusted this generation was not focusing on games, I think they’re changing that with their studio acquisition and investment, whether the quality matches PlayStation first party studios or not is certainly a good question, but I do think it’s a good sign that it is clearly back to being a focus for MS.
I scratch my head on this one too. I've used Xbox One and the UI is honestly kind of bad in my opinion. But, to each their own and I'm not trying to start a console war. The most important part of why I choose PlayStation is the games and that's where my friends play (because I don't associate with crazy people). Even when MS did have "good" exclusives I didn't particularly care for them.
they havent had a good ui since the 360 blades. they try too hard to be fancy but end up accomplishing nothing but making a confusing ui.

do you have both consoles? After using Xbox for a decent amount of times, it’s super easy and I feel like it has more depth to it. I’d suggest ps’s is more approach simplistic to use at first but there’s more to the Xbox UI, if you’re a windows user it’s a very Windows’y experience which works great for me tbh
I have zero problems with the windows ten aspects of the Xbox UI. I do also prefer the Xbox controller layout, I like the offset thumb sticks, fits better in my hands.
I've owned strictly playstation consoles since its inception last non playstation console I owned was the N64. Having said that I still hope Xbox does really well this time and continues to challenge playstation because I think the competition is good for all of us and will make Sony less arrogant. This is why Madden and NBA 2K blow because they have no real competition and can repackage the same shit. Fifa on the other hand has PES to compete with so its always a more polished game than both Madden and 2K. Even though I've never owned an Xbox I've extensively played games like Halo 1 2 3 and gears on friends consoles and have enjoyed them. But the only game on the history of Xbox I've ever truly felt like the squidward meme where I was missing out was Fable 2. Every other Xbox exclusive was like a oh well that's nice good for them. But on the other hand I couldn't imagine missing out on God of War HZD Last of us/Uncharted Spiderman MGS series etc. Nintendo has also made me feel like that a bunch of times as well with games like breath of the wild mario smash etc. What I'm trying to say is Xbox needs to get its shit together. No one is gonna pay 500+ to buy a console for its UI or game pass of an inferior library. They gotta come out with better games and exclusives than the gears/forza/halo lineups.
I've owned every console except for the newest one. I don't think I will get this one either though. Just nothing interesting looking so far that I've seen.

This is why I could never go back to Xbox. At the same point last gen I had gone through 3 Xbox 360s and 20ish (Microsoft) controllers. I’ve had one PS4 and 3 controllers this gen. My daughter has gone through 5 or 6 Xbox one controllers in about a years less time.
I played a load of souls and competitive multiplayer shooters during the 360 era and that’s a lot of stick mashing and my joysticks would catch hell. I still play a lot of both tbh and it’s weird because I’ll have R3 issues on a PS controller and swap it out with another, then swap back later on and the R3 issues clear up. PS controllers just need rest, Xbox controllers need the dumpster

What the fuck are you talking about? FIFA is fucking garbage. The entire base hates both 20 and 19. The best FIFA player said at a pro event before Covid after a win that no one enjoys playing FIFA 20. He and a couple content creators tried to stream playing PES for a few weeks because FIFA is so awful but then quit because it was also garbage. Tournament mode of FIFA 20 crashes the game when you try to save it. It’s got a 70+ page thread on EA forums that started in October (so basically it launched with this issue) and its still not fixed
