As far as the game price thing,, no one wants to pay more but the price of games really hasn't changed much in the last few generations, while the cost to make the games has gone through the roof. We really should be paying more at this point, especially if you consider the quality of the games compared to a couple gens ago when we paid roughly the same. and yeah, could just wait for the sale too.
that one was insane, i didn't even realize i could beat it at first, i ran around looking for an exit. But yeah, i had to actively find supplies and craft several times in that fight
wow dude that's a hell of a journey back to back. Like Pearl said, would love to hear what you thought of it all.
Spoiler: Thoughts of Chuckles Well for starters the story arc was incredible. My gf is a writer and she would ask me wait to play until she could watch because she was so captivated by the story. That's how well written it was. As a standalone TLOU1 is terrific, but really it just sets the table for TLOU2 and no one should play 2 without first playing 1. In 2 it could get a little confusing with the way they jump around in the timeline but I really liked it. It wasn't hard to guess the general theme - that revenge is a vicious circle - but they used the flashbacks beautifully to develop the characters and explain their motivations. By the time you get to the last couple of fight scenes in 2 you genuinely don't know who you want to win and it's difficult to attack the other. That's impressive. As for the game play, a lot of the games I'd been playing recently were set in big open worlds. I was getting tired of gathering resources and crafting items. For that reason I loved the linearity of 1. I could focus on keeping the story moving. They made 2 to be more of an open world, and while I would have been perfectly happy to keep it linear I can see how 2 strikes a good balance between the two ends of the spectrum. Still, in 2 I thought I was being exhaustive in looking for resources/mementos but the stats at the end of the game showed I missed a lot and that's kind of a bummer. I also enjoyed the general scarcity of resources in both. I was super conscious of my ammo etc and would be as efficient with my attacks as possible. This made the game feel much more realistic to me. All in all Chuckles rates TLOU at 10/10 and is now sad it's over. As much as I'd like to keep playing, it feels like the story is complete and another game would run the risk of undermining what they accomplished.
Thanks dude, you bring up some great points, and now I'm legit interested to know if other people would feel differently about the story if they played the games back to back, as two parts of a whole, and didn't have the 7 year wait to drive up expectations
yes. i have a scuf vantage controller which cant be used wireless with a mic that plugs into said controller. i suppose i could use a wireless one with usb but i dont want to get sony golds.
I had no idea. For the price, I’m shocked they’d leave off the headphone jack. Sorry I don’t have a recommendation for that. I have the Sony Platinum headset and rarely use it wirelessly.
its there but cant be unless the controller is plugged in, and due to the nature of micro usb that shit hasnt worked in months
You gotta get through the first few hours. I barely did one battle and stopped. May pick it up again because of all the comments in here.
There's so much love for it, I do enjoy the graphical style but I'm not sure I can devote 100 hours to anything, even with my focus on writing being a great excuse to play more these days. Eventually the wife will catch on lol
if you can justify 25 hours of tlou2 then you can do 25 hours of p5. if you dont like it at that point, stop playing.
I haven’t gotten into dead cells. I think I just don’t like the repetitive nature of the rogue-like games.
one of my sneaky favorites of this generation. Two games that surprised me how much I enjoyed them this generation were that and Subnautica which I think is an underrated masterpiece of a game.
I'm playing Subnautica on PC right now, it's fantastic. Really looking forward to getting into Dead Cells one of these days.
They’re two of my favorite games from this generation, I’d place both easily in my top ten maybe both in my top 5.
Assassins Creed Odyssey is on sale for $15 right now but Ghosts comes out in 10 days and I still want to try divinity original sin 2....so torn
https://www.ign.com/articles/xbox-wb-interactive-rocksteady-netherrealm-batman-sale This is interesting, I thought Microsoft and Sony should look into this. Obviously MS needs it more than Sony but that’s a good stable of developers.
TakeTwo isn't completely terrible I guess. Although they don't put out much that isn't bad outside or Rockstar and the Bioshock games.
Just finished. Really enjoyed the game. Almost game up in the basement. Glad I didn’t will play again soon. Does seem like there could be a third and Spoiler need to know what happened to Tommy. Thought we’d run into him in the predators compound .
Spoiler He's become what Ellie was on the path to becoming. A scarred old man bent by vengeance which has cost him everything
Spoiler He tells her that after he shows her the map where he thinks Abby is. Dina says that they have a family now and don't do that anymore. Tommy says he can't go after Abby because of his leg and Ellie knows this. She promised vengeance and she has to do it since he can't.
Lol that works for me actually, hit me up with an email address and I'll interview you about it. I would love to get some perspective on the Bloodborne community, as much as I try I can't get around on Souls-Borne games
This is really a cool deep dive into the souls mind. The guy who put it together is really entertaining as well.
You coward. Let the man interview you. I’ve never wanted to read something more and I recognize you’re one of the cuntiest gamers on the board. I admire it.
Oh I sent him my email before I linked that video. Trusssst me bro there’s nothing I love more than my own voice
I’m sure it’s been discussed in this thread but I’m old and it’s hard to keep up with video games these days. Is anyone excited about this Cyberpunk 2077 game? It looks pretty cool to me.
Yep very excited for Cyberpunk. That scenario thing they showed off where it's almost like detective mode looks like the tits And I love Hollie Bennett, too bad she stopped making herself a redhead
I kinda do only for the fact that first person games sometimes give me motion sickness. Climbing the lighthouse at the beginning of Bioshock Infinite made me have to lie down.
