Ohhhh yes I did manage to stumble upon that one. Penny I believe was the name of the house elf. That ghost and the whole downstairs area was a creepy trip.
Anyone play Top Spin? I had been wanting to try the game and caved last night and downloaded it. It was incredibly frustrating at first but I'm kind of enjoying it. Don't really know how professional tennis is structured but the career mode lacks a little. Have only used pros online.
This is the first tennis game I’ve played outside of Mario Tennis. I’m enjoying it but don’t really have a measuring stick. The way the stamina is done is kind of dumb.
Games that are constantly updated and often include microtransactions/season passes. Think call of duty, destiny, wow, etc.
So more likely like the online version of what they did with AC that one time which I assume failed miserably. Except with more microtransactions.
Think more Fortnite whereas CoD has offline and online modes. Fortnite et all are full on live service games.
AstroBot is really good. Been playing it with my 7 year old daughter and we've had a blast. She can do 90% of it, but some of the levels are pretty hard so I get to sub in.
It’s nice that they make it really tough to like fall off platforms to your death. I thought my five year old was a god at platform games when I let her jump around some.
Yea they may most of it very playable for all ages. Idk what they are called, we called them the "triangle" or "square" or "cirlcle" worlds where it just 1 run through and you only save one bot. No finding anything, just have to pass obstacles. Some of those are legit hard and even take me 50+ attempts. We didn't realize that when we started them and she was dead set on doing it herself. It took her probably 200+ attempts over a 3 day weekend but she woke my wife up from a nap when she finished it. She was so proud of herself. She left the rest of those to me though lol.
We beat the final boss alien guy but we still have like 50 bits to find. Going to be sad when it's over, we've had a lot of fun together on it. I don't play any games outside of sports but she's hooked on this one so I'm going to have to find something else for us to play.
enjoy it as someone whose kids are older these times are precious and we don’t realize how quickly they disappear.
"You're gonna miss this one day" is a common phrase in our house. We try to remind ourselves of that regularly. But yea, having my 7 year old say "Hey you wanna play some robot?" as soon as I walk in the door from a long day at the office is pretty awesome.
For nostalgia and fun but accessible I would say the ninja turtle shredders revenge or power rangers Rita rewind games. Up to 4 players.
It Takes Two is fantastic, she might be a little young for some of the mechanics as you have to work together pretty closely to progress but the level design and sheer number of different things you do in the game is amazing.
Man, do I know this feeling. Most times it is hard to get the kid to break away from what he's playing, but when we do it is still great, love doing couch co-op with him. He actually stumbled on a game on PS Plus called Stick Fight, up to 4-player local co-op, Smash Bros-like with stick figures on really cool levels with ridiculous physics and lots of guns and punching each other, highly recommended.
Went through Mafia for the first time. It was fun. Pretty straight forward and quick. The ending just came out of nowhere and I assumed they were setting up for part 2 but nope guy gets killed. Started Days Gone for the first time. Really enjoying it so far. These zombie bitches are hard and gotta be careful about running out of gas. Found a horde at an abandoned train and watched some marauders try to take them out and they all died haha
days gone was really fun. Got it when I had Covid a few years ago and was isolated. Think it’s unfairly maligned
It definitely is because Bend sent a version to the press for reviews that was full of bugs and ran horribly, so the reviews were terrible. Some people hated the story too but that was minor compared to the performance issues, it was absolute malfeasance on Bend's part to send out such a horrible build. Didn't help that the horde stuff, which was the most fun, was buried so deep in the game too
Play Mafia 2 when you get a chance, the ending scene from the first game will come full circle. I also enjoyed Mafia 3, however, the mission structure from that game was very repetitive. Story was great though.
Mechanics are definitely too much for a 7yo. And that's before you get into the fact the story, although kind of wacky, is actually remarkably heavy. dblplay1212 the LEGO Potter series is seemingly always on sale, perfect for her age, and a hell of a lot of fun for adults/multiplayer too
Good call, the Lego HP games are amazing, most of them are actually, Marvel Super Heroes 1 is one of the best (skip Lego Avengers though)
I still regularly get joke reels about that game and husbands standing on the other side of completed obstacles, waiting for their wife to complete their part. My partner does not find them as amusing as I do.
