If no one paid resale then resellers wouldn’t exist. I’ve been missing out on shoes I’ve wanted for years because of resellers and I used to hate them until I educated myself enough to get the things I was wanting instead of whining about it.
Questionable. Purposely constrained supply by the manufacturer and third party manipulated supply are different things. With shoes, you're already starting with a restricted number of sales over the lifetime of the product. It's part of the game. That isn't the case with consoles. Resellers are artificially creating that limited supply here.

This happens every time a console drops, if you don’t want to pay resell then just wait. No one is forcing people to buy them and if they didn’t the cost would go down. I’m not getting my 11 year old one because he doesn’t need one. It’s a luxury item. I’m not getting an Xbox series x for myself because I don’t need one. I’m willing to bet that half the people wanting one don’t even have a damn tv that’s capable of showing the difference between the 5 and 4.
