Was gonna download off game pass because of how hooked Ghost of Tsushima had me, but that’s not great.
Also tried a Tribes play through with 2 friends. We made it to the 2nd giant before our tree was destroyed within seconds.
The timing just takes some getting used to. I'm getting it down now. It's worth playing for the sound and aesthetic, alone.
I need SE to put Soul Reaver back on Steam so I can have the whole collection This demo disc was insane
Got through about half. I'll do the other half this weekend. Combat is not great at all. Bosses are not fun to fight, and it's basically luck when you beat them. You can't tell what is blockable, and the movement is so clunky. Regular enemies wait one at a time to fight you, except for a few occasions when they decide to gang up on you. When they gang up on you, there's almost nothing you can do. Spear and gun enemies suck, too. Positives are the visuals, audio, and the story is kind of interesting even if it's a pretty basic revenge story so far.
I thought I started recording the second part. Just rolled credits, went to stop the recording and realized I got none of it . Figured out how to do a move that recovers health later in the game, and the combat got better.
Initially had interest until I found out it was like dead by daylight. I just wanted a cool co-op game in this universe

Serious question is there any new game for either console coming out this year that is worth it? Starfield delayed, Stalker 2 delayed, HP? Maybe. Forspoken looks interesting. God of War?
Very well might be. But I've seen a few devs from Santa Monica reiterate on Twitter it's coming this year.
Yeah Santa Monica seems insistent that Ragnarok is coming out this year. I am really hoping Hogwarts Legacy makes this year, I'm beyond excited for that one. Otherwise maybe the reboot of Modern Warfare 2 is probably the biggest name game hitting before the end of the year.
Went from looking like a stacked year to not even being able to name e the next big game on the horizon.
- Vampire The Masquerade (RPG, not the BR)- Waiting on reviews to see how it plays and if the RPG elements are good. - The Quarry- Spiritual successor to Until Dawn, which is one of the more underrated games of last gen. I think I saw this has something like 150 endings. -Xenoblade Chronicles 3- haven't played the other two, but just downloaded the 1st one yesterday. Have heard nothing but great things -Saints Row Remake- Not sure if going away from their goofy style will be successful, but might be worth keeping an eye on. I would love a GTA style game that doesn't control like shit. -Gotham Knights- Was interested until I watched gameplay the other day. That combat was hilariously bad. This would benefit from an extremely large delay, especially since they just dropped last gen console editions. -Splatoon 3- Hear the others are good, but haven't played them. -Forspoken- Looks really cool in some parts, but really bland in others. The voice acting they've shown so far looks really bad. The movement and combat looks appealing, if they can pull it off. -Fire Emblem Warriors- Got bored with Persona Strikers, but hoping this ends up being good. for Hogwarts and GoW to not get delayed.
Thinking of going the PC route at this point but that means having all 3 systems and that’s ridiculous.
I really want to build a new PC for some existing games like Cyberpunk but also stuff on the horizon like Starfield but it's so damn expensive right now.
I've always been team Build Your Own PC but I bought one last year and it's been rock solid, it was one of the ABS pre-builts from NewEgg, highly recommended.
What Unreal Engine 5 Means for the Games Industry https://ign.com/articles/what-unreal-engine-5-means-for-the-games-industry
I don't even know what I would play without a PS5. Their first party lineup makes up a large portion of my playtime.
How much for a computer to last me 4-5 years w/ some upgrades here and there? I can probably build it myself although it’s been since HS since I’ve fucked around with opening up a tower
Sony Has Released Its First Official PS5 Bundle with Horizon Forbidden West https://ign.com/articles/ps5-new-bundle-confirmed-horizon-forbidden-west
I've found myself drifting back to games that have less amazing graphics (really shitty). I feel like everything in my life is complex and it's nice to have something that's simple. These new games are going to look amazing though. I will definitely play them.
How do developers pay for UnReal Engine 5? How does UE5 generate money? I keep reading about money/time being saved, but I'd have to guess that UE5 is going to charge a lot and it'll be a net zero change in cost. Hopefully a better quality game though.
Developers license the right to use it and in turn they don't have to spend years developing their own engine. So it can definitely save time if you don't already have a good engine.
It doesn't hurt that Epic develops Unreal Engine and they also own Fortnite and other very profitable ventures. You could also google it and you'll find this: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/faq?sessionInvalidated=true Pretty modest requirement if you ask me.
If coding was as prevalent when I was younger I would probably be a Software Engineer right now. The possibilities are just about endless.
Love that Norman Reedus is just out here casually talking about unconfirmed games from Kojima, one of the more secretive and cryptic people in the industry. I'm all in on a sequel. 6 months removed from playing the first, and I still feel like it's a masterpiece and one of the best games of the last few years.
The ability to earn trophies on older games is an immediate yes from me for PS+, being the trophy whore that I am.
