Mass Effect is a good one, I'm not sure there were ever plans for that to come to Sony systems, until there were. Bioshock was always a timed exclusive. Sunset Overdrive is one I think of but its just a one-off of course, but Halo, Forza and Fable are the only big exclusive franchises they have. Maybe State of Decay and Crackdown but not sure how big those are in the larger picture.
I'd love it if someone brought back NFL Blitz or NBA Street. Those games were so fun. Madden takes too much thinking/skill. I just want to have fun.
Lotta people don’t know about Jade Empire and that’s a shame because it was fantastic. KOTOR is legendary but JE was a fucking treat also
Xbox exclusives off the top of my head, and I’m aware many that were once exclusive have now found a new platform: Halo Gears Forza Beyond Good and Evil Alan Wake Dead Rising Fable Titanfall State of Decay Ori Cuphead Bioshock Mass Effect Sunset Overdrive Morrowind NFL 2K Hellblade 2 (next gen) Avowed (next gen)
I’m really just hoping next-gen spoils us. This gen has shown a lot of progress towards consumer-friendly practices; cross-play, cross-progression, and cross-save in some titles, smart delivery to keep us from having to repurchase something we own, cracking down on lootboxes and their lack of transparency, many devs coming out vehemently against micro-transactions, remasters and remakes (good and bad here), sturdier hardware, extreme value between PS Plus free games of the month and Xbox Game Pass absolutely bringing it. Hoping to see further implementation of cross-play/progression/save. It’s been implemented well across a few titles. Really looking forward to some of my digital copies getting a performance boost and not being hamstrung in multiplayer by friends that haven’t upgraded yet
well it was on xbox for a total of 4 months before pc release. i played it on an ancient pc with no gpu.
ive always gamed on pc. but i still prefer controller in a lot of situations. all i need for the full transformation is cross play for everything and discord integration on ps4 (or something similar)
Killer Instinct is a XB1 exclusive....thats all I got. But the whole idea behind the "1" in XB1 ultimately let it get crushed by PS4 which stayed true to what consumers really wanted.
xbox fanboys defended the kinect with opinions like "i enjoy being able to change the channel on my tv without picking up a remote" 1. dont be so lazy 2. congrats on having a voice thats not so deep voice recognition software cant understand you
I enjoyed Kinect, but it should’ve been an optional inclusion not a mandatory one. That’s where they fucked up. Would be like the PSEye cam being mandatory and charging $100 more it was a big mistake.
Also the game sharing killed them. Sony won when they put out that video on how to share games on Playstation.
XSX will come with 1TB that is half as fast as the PS5 ssd. Both have an upgrade slot. Microsoft is requiring them to buy very specific nvme drives to be able to use XSX tier games, they are rumored to be $220 for 1 TB. Meanwhile Sony isnt requiring that which means our price is $100 per TB. Xbox owners can still use standard nvme, but it will downgrade the games to X1X tier.
The S only comes with 512 GB or whatever. A disc-less console with less than 1TB of space... that'll go quick. Have to imagine next-gen games will take up more space than current games, too.
Once they figure everything out I don't think they will. Just based on what Sony has said, there's two reasons for that thought - * Can only install the parts of the game you want to, so if I want to play CoD campaign, I don't have to install the multiplayer. That of course only applies for people that only want to play one or another; but... * There will be a lot less (maybe none?) duplication of data due to the SSD tech. HDD access was so slow that devs would create copies of items that appeared often in the game world and have them in multiple places on the HDD. Spiderman had the data for the NYC mailboxes in 400 places in the install. I also think Sony will pressure devs to make their packs smaller, but not sure if they will comply. With the ability to add more storage, they may just leave the devs alone about it. Even if the games are CoD level bloated, you'll still be able to have 5 or 6 at a time installed, not great but not the end of the world, especially with install times being way less.
the majority of games these days are far closer to 50gb than 100. and ps5 really wont have more storage possibilities than ps4. ps4 internal support tops at 2tb and ps5 probably will too, if not it will be outrageously expensive to get above that.
for the record i am team games wont be bigger than they are now. if they were pc games would also have to behave similarly and they have no reason to do that.
also once you realize it’s just a message board and it’s not that serious and I just give people shit when I’m bored
From games definitely have a core hardo bro fanbase but I appreciate that they actually fill that git gud market with mostly quality games
I think a lot of y’all didn’t read the article myself and One Knight wrote on Bloodborne and it shows
