Good win, looked like he was walking on it fine after the game with no ice. Obviously not good timing with the quick schedule to get the season in. I wish I got to see Eder play more this year at center back, obviously all the competitions we are involved in are so contested and tight, just wish I could get to see these younger guys play more. Does anybody see Bale playing at the club next year? And who do we target in this transfer window this summer?
I’m guessing with the quick turnaround you’ll get your wish this week, especially with Nacho out too. As for Bale (and James) the issue is finding someone willing to take on their salary while still getting some sort of value, as little as it might be. That’s going to be especially tough this summer given the correct economic situation. A decision on Rodrygo, Brahim, Mariano, Ceballos, Odriozola, Regulion, Lunin & Jovic is also going to have to be made. Some sales & loans will have to happen just to get down to 25. Plus... Odegaard & Hakimi look likely to return this summer which presents another set of questions for Perez & Zidane. My guess is it’s a very quiet window with Camavinga being the most likely (realistic) target. Any giant Mbappe move is a year away imo.
More than a little surprised to see Ramos in the lineup today. Also only 2 midfielders is an interesting selection
Yeah, I don't understand it, he is so young. It's almost like he is mad at the club for being loaned out, sucks because I thought he was the future at right back. Him and Mendy on the flanks for years to come had me excited.
He wants to play and has no interest in competing with Carva for the minutes. He’s too good to be sitting most weeks but not good enough to play over Vinícius, Rodrygo, or Asensio on the right wing. It sucks that he’s leaving but I can’t blame him for wanting to play, especially since Conte’s system will fit him really well. The shitty fee and the fact that this leaves the club with just Odriozola as the sole backup is the real kick in the pants.
I totally understand wanting to play, just sucks for the club, losing a young quality player for such a small fee. Not to mention that I like his style of play and it fits with club.
He’s more of a wing back than a traditional RB. Zidane loves to overlap and push the FBs high up the field so his attacking skill would have been uilized but he’s proven to be much more effective with 3 CBs behind him and that’s not at all Real’s style of play. He’s going to have to improve defensively under Conte but the fact that he’s not currently a great defender has been problematic in a traditional back 4 setup. His agent has hinted at him transitioning to more of an advanced role in the future and he’s just 22 so it could very well happen but with the attacking talent at the Club now he’d be even further from seeing the field
Not sure if it was the heat or fatigue or what but that was a very uninspired effort. They got all 3 points so I guess it’s mission accomplished but they’ve looked awfully meh the last couple of games and have 2 significantly tougher matches coming this week
not a great half, they're lucky not to be down but I seriously doubt Getafe can keep up that press for another 45+
That was pretty shitty, lucky to escape with 3 points They better get their shit together or they're gonna get their ass beat Sunday
Huge win in what was possibly their toughest match left on the schedule. A 7 point lead with Barca having a tough match later today is a v nice feeling
Thankfully Vinicius tested negative for Covid so he should be good to go tomorrow. Sounds like Hazard will return too though not certain if he’ll start. No idea what Zidane is going to do on the back line tomorrow though with Ramos & Carvajal both suspended and Marcelo & Nacho hurt. I’m sure Mendy will start on the left and maybe Vazquez at RB? Or a 3 man back line and Lucas & Bale as wingbacks? Thank God Varane is ok or they’d be in seriously trouble.
Muscle strain in his groin. Normally it’d just be 2-3 weeks off but with season ending next Sunday he’s obviously done.
Job done and hopefully with minimal effort expended with only a couple days off before 2 matches in 3 days
That's not until August 7th so my guess is that he'll be back by then. Whether or not Zidane plays him is another question but barring his injury being more severe or a setback in his recovery I'd expect him to at least be on the bench and available. Since the return both teams have looked really good and really not good at times so it's tough to say. The fact that City are sitting on 2 away goals is less than ideal and means Real will have to attack from the outset. Normally I'd say their backs are against the wall but with no fans the road atmosphere means very little. City is def favored because of their lead but it wouldn't shock me to see Real advance either given their talent and the crazy circumstances of the return.
not trolling but City 86% favored to advance. Those are not insignificant odds. I'm pulling for Madrid, though.
The few revised odds I saw were 9/4 which sounds about right. Given the current scoreline I’d say that’s about right, this is a matchup City wins 7 out of 10
Love Navas to death, a great player and by all accounts a great person, and I hope he’s brought back and honored by the club some day. That said, it was without a doubt 100% the right call to bring in Courtois. Dude has been one of the best in the world this season.
A win today means they can clinch the title on Thursday. So it’s sort of important they get 3 points today.
They looked gassed in the second half, which I guess is expected when you play twice in 72 hours. Another huge game from both Benz, Mendy and Courtois though. A win over Villarreal on Thursday clinches the title
3 points clinches the title today, trophy is in the building #Real Madrid BeIn are a bunch of cunts and only have the match airing on their Spanish feed so here are a bunch of streams if anybody wants to watch in English https://www.ronaldo7.net/video/real-madrid-live/real-madrid-live-streaming.html
