Thats sad to hear.
Listening to Iger pod. He calls Bill out on this and Bill backs down big time.
also Bill asks a terrible question and Iger nicely tells him he has no idea what he is asking about. It was an awful question. He was trying to ask about ESPN being late to streaming and the ESPN+ model but just asks about being late.
I enjoyed Ben Thompson but could not hit stop fast enough as soon as he says “ok we’re gonna call my buddy Jacko...”
Iger rarely missteps. He's not going on Simmons' pod without being 100% prepared. Someone like Simmons is like a kindergartner interviewing him.
Rewatchables Breakfast Club was solid
Never dawned on me that they would be in a shit ton of trouble for what they did to that library. Pretty obvious now that I think about it.
I knew all five of those types in HS. That's why I think it still holds up.
His baseball takes are 50x better and more educated than his political takes
It's because you fall on the other political side than he does. JackO isnt a dumb guy.
Jesus christ Bill, we get it.
I listen to about 1/3 of the Bill podcasts that most of you do so I find that pretty funny. Its probably been 8 months since I even listened to JackO mainly because I couldnt careless about what the Sox and Yankees are up too.
There's no group with a less perceptive outlook on the American political landscape than a never Trump Republican. Get JackO the fuck out of here.
Clearly you fall on the other side of the political spectrum from him.
also he’s a dumb guy.
Let me boil down the core never Trump Republican belief to its essence: "I like LITERALLY EVERYTHING he's done in office, but i disapprove of his social media usage."
Well that's not true because I know plenty of them but you're entitled to your opinion.
And every single one of them is living in a fantasy land. This administration has been the wildest conservative fever dream since day one, but because he's mean to people on Twitter, they want to pretend like they don't like everything that's happening.
I wanted to cut taxes on the wealthy, kill the poor and destroy the environment, but not like this
I’m sure the guy whose personality is based around cosplaying a boomer and his GOP buddies are very principled people
I know plenty that dont feel that way. Broad generalizations just aren't fair on either side to me.
JackO seems like a nice guy who has become a successful lawyer and has some kids. He might be a good father and husband. He might not. I dont like to assume how he is one way or another based on his political leanings.
If those people can point to 2 things this administration has accomplished that they don't like, then they aren't fucking Republicans and they should be campaigning for mayor Pete, if they could tolerate voting for such a sexual deviant.
JackO is a jackass because he’s not well informed about subjects he fires off hot takes about, the fact he’s GOP just means he’s a jackass AND an asshole
He's probably nice to his kids though, so him cheering on hundreds of thousands of kids he doesn't know losing health insurance since 2016 is not a problem.
I’m sure he’s raising them to be very respectful of minorities
All of my Republican friends are pro-gay rights. I dont think that is a drawback for them. I like a lot of his resume. He's very well educated and I like his military background. I think he's a tad young as he's the same age as me but think his hard stance on abortion and the electoral college would be a deterrent for some. He's definitely more appealing than Hillary, Bernie and Biden are. Think he has a real chance.
Why wouldntt he? Pretty shitty thing to assume about somebody.
If they were pro gay rights, they wouldn't be voting Republican
Like, this isn't that hard. One party works to constantly strip rights from the LGBT community. You don't get to vote for that party then say you support the gay community. It doesn't work that way. This should be completely obvious
Sure they would. It’s not an all or nothing situation.
Are you friends or come in contact with any Republicans?
I live in fucking Oklahoma, what do you think. We're all either Republicans or lapsed Republicans here.
Your party only has political viability because its intense anti-LGBT stance has made the entire American Christian community rabid GOP fanatics. Voting GOP and being against LGBT rights are functionally inseparable, no matter how much you like to pretend you're only voting to hurt poor people.
His voting record indicates otherwise, why doesn’t he practice what you’re assuming he preaches?
never thought of that either until the pod
You think because someone votes Republican they hate minorities? If you do, I'm sorry you feel that way but I'm not going down that route on this board or especially this thread. I have helped derail enough today and I'm pretty sure most are tired of reading about it.
Jesus take this garbage to the politics thread
Jacko has bad and boring opinions
My bad I'm done. Sorry about that.
When you don’t think about things that don’t directly impact you, or have empathy in general, it’s very easy to vote Republican.
Yes. It's the best predictor of support.
Well that’s unfortunate but it’s not surprising.
The jacko interview was even worse than expected.
Micah Peters tries way too hard to have a good taste in music to not really pull it off
Bill thinking woke culture keeps breakfast club from happening in 2020, I am shocked.
Wonder if he’ll just go full Adam Carolla now that he’s cashed out
The casting what-ifs were pretty good. Glad Hughes decided on Nelson over Cusack.
Wesley’s idea for making versions today with casts of all white people, all black people, etc. was really interesting to me. I hadn’t thought of doing something similar in terms of casting but with ideas of 2020 in a movie and what it would mean.
the rich douchebag humblebrags are underway
This is quite a paragraph
I wouldn’t date Justin Bieber
