When I want to hear someone discuss the colossal fuckup that is the government response to a pandemic....I think Malcolm Gladwell.
Beginning of Russillo’s pod killed me when he did his “both sides” thing. Especially when he named all the shitty stuff from the fight he was mad about, and it was actual stuff that mattered like conspiracy garbage and what hannity and Rush are saying. Then is all “but AOC can’t tell me if I don’t wanna eat Chinese food I’m racist” or something. Just amazing.
Ya. Gladwell was basically like...ya know bill, odds are your son has it. ....kids get into things, carry disease, etc It was pretty damn awkward to say the least.
Looking forward to his recovery and this being added to the list of reasons that his son isn’t injury prone on a podcast in the future
A fun game would be to say, “ya know Bill, odds are, <insert something that would make Bill’s jaw drop>”
Super pumped that it is Castaway as well. I’ve been waiting for that one. I honestly wish Chris and/or Sean was on it too. It won’t be as good with one person but I’m glad they are going to be doing two Rewatcheables a week now.
About an hour before it went up, I started the movie and told someone about why I was watching + the joke Simmons had been doing forever about doing it solo. The fact that he went through with it definitely made me laugh, even if I wish one of those guys was on it too.
Solo Cast Away was pretty good listening while mowing the grass yesterday. Also--I really like it when BIll reads his old columns. He does in Book of Basketball sometimes, and did an old Patriots one on the latest BS pod about Brady. His writing style is drastically different than how he talks on the Pod and it makes me remember why I became such a big fan.
His writing is still my favorite way to consume him. I miss his columns and mailbags a lot. That being said I’m looking forward to mowing the lawn this afternoon and listening to the Castaway pod.
It’s my favorite podcast but today I was looking hack at the ones I never tried or stopped 1/4 way in and it’s more than I thought.
Edge of Tomorrow rules. It was originally supposed be titled Live Die Repeat, but studio hated it and added the tag after it "flopped."
I don't know that you can really do great sci-fi in a movie. The Matrix is a great action movie with a sci-fi premise. Moon and Alien are sci-fi adjacent , but also more the best black mirror episode and a horror movie in space.
I’ve never watched Moon for some reason but I always loved the poster for it. Maybe I’ll watch it during quarantine.
I came into it with zero expectations and was blown away. Forgot about it until a couple weeks ago and watched it with the wife and she fucking loved it.
Love Dave Chang but my goodness he couldnt stop sucking up to Bill on the recent pod. Everything Bill said was either hilarious or super interesting
can someone buy anyone who may ever have to do a video from home a god damn webcam always like slow news day but russilo especially, you're worth millions man
