man absolute perfect description of her. I know picture her watching games on a 26 inch tube TV and texting on a flip phone
Technically, contracts are a form of intangible personal property, legally, as contrasted against tangible personal property (physical stuff), real property (buildings), or real estate (land). Agreed tho it was a clumsy attempt to articulate a common sense concept.
Terminator was meh. Of course bill thinks pop culture was at its apex in 1984. He was a 14 year old boy then. Pop culture was built for 14 year old boys.
He grew up reading her stuff and she was revolutionary at the time in a male dominated field. She was obviously better when she had time to write with and Editor rather than fresh hot takes. She probably has more prestige in his eyes than the rest of us. I don’t get but he probably has a biased affinity to all Boston people he grew up with.
I laughed a bunch on the Terminator Pod due to Shea and Ryan. Bill had similar takes on the Rambo Pod about how that was the first true modern action movie when he said the same thing on the Die Hard and Point Break podcasts. It’s like when Chris Ryan says Jaws, HEAT and Reservoir Dogs are all his favorite movies of all-time.
obviously not a shocker but damn near everyone Simmons hires has some tie to Boston. Obviously some are good like Zach Lowe or KOC. Nora Princiotti, Wesley Morris, Russillo, Jackie, Bill Barnwell, etc. off the top of my head, sure there's more
The old SVP and Russillo mailbag videos on ESPN.com (some are on YouTube) used to always get me. I listened to that show almost every day when they were together, but those mailbags always felt like the first time that SVP kind of realized that Russillo was more than his sidekick and was probably going places, too.
Yeah I think that was the problem. It was too close to the First Blood pod. Very similar takes for each.
The other thing that bothered me, and this is a more general ringer complaint but bill is probably the #1 offender. No one wants stories about LA traffic, parts of town you drove through, restaurants that are now where a movie was filmed in 1984, or really any LA specific references. I don’t get why they all feel the need to do this.
Ok first everyone starts bitching because they only talk about Boston. Now they mix it up and y'all still want to complain. There's no pleasing people smh
So according to Peter Schraeger the secondary of the Bucs is similar to the Bad Boys Pistons because they tweet a lot
Bill and Sal shitting on the game management decisions in Bucs Pack will be fair. Field Goal decision Sliding (?) before 2 minute warning on kick off Accepting the off side (can’t they decline that?)
when the fuck did Zack Moss become prime Emmitt Smith? Who the fuck felt like he was the missing piece vs the Chiefs (other than Bill of course)
Hedging in general is stupid I think he had something like 30-1 on a bucs/bills Super Bowl I know he lost but if someone gave him the opportunity on Sunday to make a 30-1 bet on bucs/bills I would have to imagine he would put more on it than he originally did. By hedging he did the opposite.
The unicorn discussion was a rough listen, feel bad for KOC getting sucked into indulging that conversation
Wasn’t planning on listening but might have to hear what this guy sounds like since they’ve brought him up a bunch of times.
I didn't think it was terrible but also probably not worth putting on a podcast either Also the guy has never bet on any sports so why bring him on during their super bowl betting episode?
Baby Doll is just not as interesting as they think he is, should've brought back their psycho friend Brad, now THAT guy was incredible
i have very little interest in hearing that kind of pod again but it was pretty funny for a one-timer i don't get why its the pre-super bowl pod. the agent sounds exactly like i thought he would re: warm, slimy, and gregarious.
Grantland posted a video of Brad breaking down the geography of Ray Donavan driving around LA. Killed me. Brad is a UT grad, who best I can tell doesn't follow UT basketball. But I remember watching a stream of Simmons, Sal, and Brad watching March Madness, and Bad was full of passion, but didn't know any names of the players on Cuonzo Martin's team.
