Yeah Sean Young was definitely a thing in the 80’s up until she lost her shit not getting the Catwoman role in Batman Returns
I will not do it. But I need someone to listen to Bill’s pod about Joe Biden dropping out of the race.
Can’t say I really respect Tara’s pov on political stories and how she selects to cover things. Gave her pod a try and when she casually said “Pelosi has been in office for like 20-25 years” I was like ehhh maybe that’s enough in general. She belongs on newsmax.
didn't Bill major in political science at Holy Cross? Hearing him clueless about super delegates, open conventions etc was made even better by his hand picked political podcaster not knowing either
he and ryen both i think. there was some pod like a year ago where they both basically bragged about not learning/remembering anything
His handpicked podcaster breathing heavily about this and treating it like nfl free agency is everything I loathe about today’s political coverage. One side wants to chain her to a bed and force her to pop out babies while the other side wants her to have healthcare not tied to Spotify, and she treats it like a horse race
“Many people are arguing they’ve lost the moral argument over this in comparison to Donald Trump bc they’ve done this.” OH FUCK OFF TO HELL YOU DUMB CUNT
Why does Bill do so much solo content now? I don't remember him ever doing solo stuff until the last year or so, and now he does 20+ minutes NBA segments by himself and also posts those horrible solo vids of him talking while walking.
I think the walking vids are very troubling. It's a transitory state to him becoming a driving vid guy, and we all know the types that favor driving vids. It's clear Russillo has been in his ear for too long.
Listening to no way out and just wondering who or where in Bill’s life he recently heard “put his horns on”. Because he’s using it often in the way he does when someone he knows says something funny and he recycles it.
No Way Out RW was delightfully unhinged. caught a funny part where CR says he is circling a few late stage Gene Hackman movies for the rewatchables, such as behind enemy lines and Heist (early 2000s). And then Bill says "what about The Package" (a movie from 1987).
Behind enemy lines is definitely rewatchable and had a good cable run. have they down the quick and the dead?
“The USA men’s basketball team has a lot of guys who are used to having the ball all the time. Could present some issues.” great stuff bill
I like The Big Picture and enjoy some of the banter of Amanda being a snob about super hero movies, but it's pretty dumb to do a multi-pod thing with The Midnight Boys on Deadpool and Wolverine if Amanda can't even bother to watch either of the first two Deadpool movies. The pod generally had the same takeaways I did about the movie, but I would not have done well on that pod listening to Amanda talk about the movie while admitting she didn't even see the other ones. At that point you might as well have brought Bill in and have him judge it without even seeing any of the three.
You’re missing the point. She is there, in my mind, to give the point of view of the non-Deadpool / non-Marvel fan boys. Nothing she says in the pod is controversial? It’s not meant to just be a circle jerk for those who have watched all 50 or whatever of the movies. This is pretty consistent with how they run the pod.
He’s so mad that the consensus is Tatum is a lame, aura-less charisma sponge. Really it’s the only thing that made that Celtics title run bearable. It’s so important to him that Tatum is universally loved.
he also desperately wants to think of Tatum as a Giannis/Jokic/Luka level superstar where as long as Tatum is on the team it guarantees the Celtics a top seed in the East, when in reality Tatum is more a Carmelo tier star
He wants this when it helps him. He wants the opposite when it doesn't. We're 2 months removed from his defense of Tatum against criticism is "stop comparing him to players who are a tier above him." The defense of Simmons in this regard is he is such a prisoner of the moment guy that he does this with everyone, even people who aren't Boston athletes. And he has no recollection of saying anything contrary to that with those people, either.
“They’ve already decided they want Lebron to be the star of this Olympics, and everyone on the team has signed off on this, or begrudgingly signed off on this” Sure, everyone secretly hates the guy they all just voted flagbearer
His most annoying trait is his homerism combined with his ego being so big that he doesn't believe he is a homer at all. His biggest flaw as a basketball analyst/historian is his obsession with winning needing to matter, which makes him come up with all these ridiculous hot takes about whoever just won a game.
He’s very Trumpy in that way. Whatever the last interesting thing that a person cooler than him said becomes his opinion. For years, he said Scorsese was his favorite director. Then some actor on his pod said PTA was the best living director, and he’s been parroting that ever since.
much like Trump you can tell when someone uses a phrase Bill hasn't heard before and then it becomes something he then repeats on the pod about 100 times over the course of 2 weeks "People forget...." is Bill's version of when Trump says "Folks lots of people have been saying..." which is when both just want to try and hammer their own opinions home
I've just been assuming that Bill's recent run of "putting the horns on" during the Rewatchables came from Van and Bill stole it for this reason
Speaking of horns on, when Bill said “what if 2 people get in a Waymo and start making a porno.” Bill was HORNED UP
