that's what I like about them
I think they are good foils for Bill on the podcast. I still like them. My favorite pods are the three of them.
i didn't even bother with the F&F rewatchable because i don't love the franchise. i think it's more of a meme.
but if you're going to do that movie, shouldn't you instead do Point Break? isn't that way more interesting? Keanu Reaves, Patrick Swayze, Gary Busey, directed by Kathryn Bigelow after developing it with James Cameron (her husband at the time)? Fast & the Furious is practically a beat-for-beat remake of the film and it itself had a modern remake a couple of years ago.
i'd much rather listen to a Point Break podcast and all of the tangents Point Break would go on versus F&F.
You're in luck: https://www.theringer.com/2017/11/2...-shea-serrano-jason-concepcion-and-mark-titus
They discussed this point
3 Patriots (Brady, Flowers, Slater) articles on the front page, none on Rams
to be fair, I've never seen less buzz for a potential championship team locally than with the Rams. That's not to say they don't have some fans but when the Lakers or Dodgers have been in the Finals/World Series, you know. Laker flags and Dodger hats in abundance, not much Rams gear that I've seen around. I'm in Orange County but it just really doesn't have the same feel as when I lived in Denver or San Diego. I wouldn't do much Rams content just because it's a pretty limited readership.
It’s still January and Klosterman comes through with the spiciest take of 2019 on the new Simmons pod. I won’t spoil it so everyone can enjoy it in real time.
can you just put it on spoilers? I don't listen to the pods I just follow the content in this thread.
He said he thinks Romo is under more pressure to perform in the Super Bowl than Brady
Excited for the Next episode of the Rewatchables
oh my gosh if they traded him the salty tears would be delicious. Put your pants back on Tobias
Russilo needs to drop the "I'm not a Celtics/Pats/etc fan anymore" bullshit, it's insulting
I don't listen to his stuff very often anymore, but it always has been insulting. Especially the Celtics stuff.
I also hate listening to him talk about the NBA because it's all about what he's hearing from his people and how anyone who has any other info is wrong because he hasn't heard it. Telling your audience every time that you have better info than anyone on any major NBA story just gets sad after a while.
I loved Russilo’s super bowl memories. Not sure if that was Espn pod or ringer. Also the Atlanta stories about trying to get into parties was good.
I like Russilo. Dual Threat is pretty good.
Agreed though I was disappointed he hung out with the bar stool losers
Yeah I’m hot and cold with those guys.
I don't listen to Russillo often, but I'm familiar with him to know he's got something, but what he's got is about 30% of what he thinks he's got, which is why I don't listen.
Clearly he has connections in the Celtics organization and always defers to Ainge’s view of things
russillo is awful
To each his own. I didnt have much time to listen SVP & Russillo or Kanell & Russillo. I enjoy his podcasts with Bill and his Dual Threat had had some good guests(Joe Buck, Dilfer, McShay, Drew Henson).
I was team Russillo way back in the early SVP show days. I liked him on the radio because he seemed different from most of the people in the genre, and being with SVP made his chip on the shoulder thing work because they could turn it into a joke. Since SVP left, it's like his filter is gone and he has nowhere to hide that chip or his ego, which is why I liked him less and less. If I was more of a podcast guy I would probably still listen to a lot of his stuff, but he's lost me over the years and it's probably not going to get better hanging out with Simmons more.
idk, I actually quit following that pod bc he had a murder's row of bad guests. McShay is pretty uninformed on the draft compared to a lot of other analysts especially early on because he does sideline work during the season (among other reasons). Andy Benoit, Cowherd, Kanell, Booger McFarland, etc.
I really like Russillo. I liked his and Simmons’ NBA trade deadline pod. Their rant on how miserable NBA players seem to be now was spot on imo.
pronouncing it "Bruce Bocky" was about as bad is it gets, even for Bill
im sure hell eventually beat it into the ground, but the lebron: master of the obvious gimmick might have some legs
doing A Star is Born on Rewatchables makes no sense to me. It is still in pre-order.
A) they love the movie.
B) oscars coming up
C) maybe they got paid
It was timely for me as I just watched it Saturday night with my wife. Really enjoyed the movie.
That's the only thing I can think of. I haven't seen it yet because the wife doesnt want to. I was waiting for it to come to On Demand but Bill ruined the ending on his BS Podcast last week so now I dont even care to see it. First time I have hated Bill for a short period.
that's all fine, just don't think it fits with the idea of the podcast. I haven't seen the movie, so I will just wait to listen until I do.
I agree there are so many other great movies and that is why i agree with the above they were paid to do it.
Its a remake with the same ending from the 1954 version.
I liked the movie a lot, but the ringers hard on for it has been incredible since before it came out.
Creed and Get Out having episodes don't make me surprised by this getting one
it is out on demand already
iirc they'd have to flag it if they got paid to do it, the more likely scenario is its award season and they want to capitalize on the clicks anything to do with it is getting
I know it’s a remake but I’ve never seen any of the versions.
Im just saying you cant get TOO mad about a spoiler from something thats been out for 70 years
I didn’t the movies were verbatim. Still disappointing.
Spoiler alert for a star is born: she becomes a star
woof at Russilo's opening segment on his pod today (ESPN).
Haven't listened to what bro is talking about yet but Russilo is sounding like a billionaire bootlicker with a lot of his takes lately, very "shut up and dribble"
that's pretty much exactly what it was.
His talk was about how he wishes all CEOs were women and all NBA owners were black so people would see nothing would change. Which I guess is a correct take but not really sure why we need the ownership bootlicking. He also got a nice complaint in about how all rich white people are painted in a bad light in the media.
damn if he goes like one step further and gets rid of white male persecution complex he'll be a communist in no time
he's been trending that way for a long while, just leaning into more now that he's out in Hollywood.
my bro moved to the PNW and immediately felt like he had to lean a certain way so as not to feel like part of the leftist herd.
He can have whatever views he wants, but I just like his NBA takes and wanted to hear them post-football season so I can get locked into the league.
I can't stand his NBA takes because he acts like he's the only person in the world with sources. Anyone who disagrees clearly doesn't know what he's talking about because SOURCES TELL ME.
