What are our draft needs? Te'o played over his head this year, but I'd really like to upgrade at LB. Maybe interior DL as well. OL is getting old, but also don't want to draft a project. I know it's repetitive, but we can always use a speedy/slot WR. We;re still in cap hell, so I can't imagine we make a big splash in free agency. How much $$ we save with dickhands fleener and co. coming off the books?
LB and the DL is the biggest problem and surprisingly not the secondary. Ted Ginn is getting old even though he played lights out, I could see him getting traded for a earlier pick, but I hope not.
I fully agree, defensive front 7, TE, a WR and maybe some OL depth if we lose kelemete would be where id look
marquise lee, donte moncrief and paul richardson would players i would love our staff to look at. If we can afford better itd be great but they are still young and could take the pressure off michael thomas
He had one big catch this season even though it was short one for him. He can't block to save his life also.
We're in a good spot in the draft to simply take BPA- assuming we resign our key FAs. We need another LB for sure though - once we lost Klein our D took a pretty big hit.
just a closer look https://overthecap.com/player/coby-fleener/548/ https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/new-orleans-saints/
Marcus Williams is going to be good to great player for long time. Any Saints fan that doesn’t want him can get fucked
LB should be top priority, DL, TE next As someone stated earlier, burn a pick on a QB to work under Brees and hopefully he show the tools is practice so at least we know he may be the guy. Resign Brees to a two year deal. His contract is up
The Saints signed Coby Fleener to a five year, $36 million contract on March 9, 2016. Fleener's contract contains $14.6 million in full guarantees including an $8 million signing bonus. Another $3.4 million is guaranteed for injury and becomes fully guaranteed following the 2018 Super Bowl.
Saints' Zach Strief undecided on football future as he recovers from knee surgery http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2018/01/zach_strief_undecided_retireme.html
It makes me happy to see our tmb fanbase being fair to Williams after that. I think the most important fact is that he was tremendous as a rookie and we weren’t in a spot to win if he doesn’t pick off Keenum. I hope that play doesn’t haunt him.
That sucks, he was amazing. Will never forget Hakim drops the ball. It's burnt into memory. Hopefully, Bobby and Deke are forcefully retired soon.
Gisecki. He's a nice Evan Engram type. We need someone that can effectively block. I like Goedert from South Dakota State or Hayden Hurst from SCar
A good possession option outside of the running backs and getting anything from WR not named Micheal Thomas or Tedd Ginn is the last piece that makes our offense essentially unstoppable. With the way our season went last year could always use more OL depth too. Need another defense heavy draft imo. Focused on many more LB's and more DL depth and pass rush.
TE has to be a priority either with an immediate impact guy in the draft or through FA. We didn't get dick from that position this year. Need a red zone threat that doesn't have dick hands.
Some guys to consider for your needs: Billy Price (OC) Jamarco Jones (OT) Jerome Baker (OLB) Chris Worley (OLB) Tyquan Lewis (DL) Jalyn Holmes (DE) Sam Hubbard (DE) I'd be shocked if NO takes any less than three of the aforementioned players.
I mean we aren't an offensive weapon away from winning a Superbowl - we're a little more depth in the front 7 away. Another decent WR would be nice, but we can be fine with what we have, as long as we have Drew I'm not worried about who is catching the ball. If Snead can just get back in shape I'd be happy with him, Ginn, and Coleman again. We need to bring back Kelemete for the OL - that's huge.
I'm not sure which Ohio St players we're drafting this year, but I look forward to him (them) being an amazing player for us.
Yeah I've seen those projections, just not sure I buy it yet. Hunter Henry was projected pretty high and went 35th. We'll see.
I don't see him making it past like 45ish. A lot of teams at the back end of the first need a true TE like that and if they don't take him there I could see them moving back or moving up in the 2nd.
