Oh yeah. There was a looooong Reddit post that breaks down cut by cut. Tony looks up every time the door rings except he’s distracted when the members only dude walks in. He’s distracted again when the members only guy walks into the bathroom. Director made it a point to show that Tony missed the guy twice and then bam. Lights out
Goddammit. In other news, I got the book The Sporanos Sessions as a Christmas gift. Read it while doing a rewatch over the last few weeks. Highly recommend it, if you're a big fan of the show who rewatches it periodically, as I do.
Meadow going from Berkeley as her top choice to coming home every weekend to do laundry at Columbia was a disappointing character development
I thought it was one of the most interesting arc's on the show. At the beginning of the series she had plans to get away from her family, get away from the mob and become a doctor. Slowly she starts changing and getting sucked more and more into the family profession. By the end of the show she has plans to become a lawyer, is set to marry the son of another mobster and is likely heading down a path to be a mob laywer. Shows how easy it can be to get sucked in to the crime life even if you are extremely smart.
She went to Morocco all by herself. There are so many subtle little things that make me giggle Gloria Trillo was so nice
I think we only meet Jackie Jr's sister Kelli after his funeral. But she was super cute she also had a solid line: If my dad still controlled all the crime in north jersey like your dad does now, i'd probably want to drop it too Spoiler
Junior trying to intimidate the court sketch artist is amazing I'm fucking fodder for cartoonists now?
What am I, a toxic person? T: Did you ever know anybody that ever committed suicide? J: Plenty. I lived in Seattle
T: Let me ask you a question. Do you think Ralph is a little weird about women? S: I dunno, Tone. I mean he beat one to death, just for uh.... I forget, what was it again?
absolutely hilarious Tony gets so mad about the dog And of course paulie- -guys we said none judgement P- fuck that and of course it ends up in a beating. but that part when chris talks back at tony brought some feels
“Chrissy. One morning I came to the bing and found you with your head over the toilet. Your hair was in the toilet water. Disgusting.” “I was sick” “Chrissy. I said my piece”
Junior using funerals as his means of socializing. Talking about how good the chicken is Then calling Carmela's dad to let him know he shouldn't expect him at his upcoming surprise party Amazing Joey Peeps' headstone
This was such a good mini arc, and the FIL whining to Dr. Fried while he's tending to a guy with a broken skull
Something I never really picked up on, Phil emerges from a closet in the hotel room where Vito is beaten to death
Junior “Any of you know what ‘bacala’ is? Of course you don’t. Well, it’s salted cod. We taught the world how to eat.”
pretty much every peripheral character really. even benny, the asshole scummy enough to steal from artie
Patsy after they get the news about Vito, "I wish I woulda borrowed money from Vito" meanwhile the guy who got a $20k loan grins
This thread made me start a rewatch, the first episode is so nice. When tony goes to the restaurant with carmela just one night after going with his mistress(the waiter tells that it’s nice to see him since it’s been a while :)And then Carmela-you seem in a good mood lately tony-Carmela there is something I gotta confess carmela moving her hands near her glass of wine tony-what are you doing? Carmela -getting my wine ready to throw in your goddam face tony-I am on Prozac I have been seeing a therapist. carmela- that’s great, that’s so wonderful, psychology doesn’t address the soul but that’s something else. It’s wonderful I am going to shut up now. tony-you are the only person who knows and the only reason I tell you this is cause you are my wife and the only person on this planet that I am completely and totally honest with carmela- oh please
