lol promoter at le-vel MLM people always find new ways to astound me with their poor decision making skills
I believe the professor just threw it in the trash after we all had a good laugh. It was a blue book style exam so he'd have had to read the essays and assign scores. Judging from the professor's reaction he wasn't remotely close to talking about what he was supposed to be, but did write multiple paragraphs for each answer, so who knows maybe he could have pulled a D
A substitute teacher in my district got stabbed by a 17 year old girl while breaking up a fight two days ago.
I'm teaching World History again. Everything is already done. All I'll have to do is change the dates, I do have a couple of PD's over the summer.
That's awesome. I have to work all summer same as usual (not a traditional teacher) but I ain't mad atcha
Downside is I'm teaching 9th grade again for the 4th straight year. They steadily keep passing me over for US History
Most of our faculty are away for the summer, many in fancy far off places. A professor sent in a request to have every page of a certain book scanned and sent to her...she wrote the fucking book
Found out I'm teaching AP and Accelerated World History. Yay, I get all the smart kids. To even that out, I'm also going to get the bottom scoring kids too, booooooooooo
Last year was the first year that I didn't have any 9th graders who were in Geometry. Apparently out of the roughly 260 9th graders we had coming in, I had the bottom 130 as far as incoming scores. They gave the 1st year teacher all the smart kids because they thought it would be easier for him to handle (they ran over him and they wound up moving him to 12th grade sociology and psychology 4th term). 15 of my kids ended up at Alternative School
You're doing the lords work pearl. I went to public school in SC and did ok bc of some good teachers I had
There was no reaction? I would've thought that people would be horrified or at least replied with some sort of empathy...
As a non-teacher and someone who is 15 years removed from secondary schooling, what's wrong with having first block off?
Personally preference. My 4 years I've always had at least one of the last blocks off. However, my 2nd year really spoiled me because if I had any personal matters to attend to, I could simply leave at 1:50pm 1st year: 4th & 7th 2nd year: 4th & 8th 3rd year: 2nd & 8th This year: 1st & 8th
We're on block schedule. 90 minute (2 hour lunch 3rd/7th) classes. I teach 3 classes a day A-day = 1st through 4th B-day = 5th through 8th
No blocks off this year but have a coteacher for the last block each day. Get 2 additional supplements equal to $11k so not all bad
