I was told the stipend for me coaching football and baseball this year was $3300 and $2100 respectively. (I know nothing about baseball). Also, waiting on the scores from my comp exam. Pass that, I get my masters and an additional $3100 for upgrading my license.
Our head coach gets $6600. However, I've heard that's nothing compared to other districts here in MS. What kind of offense you plan on running?
Have very few athletes and the line couldn't pass block under previous coaches so I've installed a wing-T offense. Had some success in the spring
As a student I never did like the A-day B-day shit. I much preferred doing 4 classes first semester and then doing the other 4 second semester. However my senior year they decided to switch from block to traditional schedule and I would have taken anything over that bullshit.
7 periods, off 2nd and 6th. I had 1st off for about five years and grew to love it. I used my time much more effectively than when I had my off period later in the day.
Will be working at a HS for the first time this year. I'm already happy about the hours and the location (10 min from home). Also kind of funny to me that this school has the same colors and mascot as my HS

One is professional learning, but it's usually planning. It's great because if we do have any pl or collaborative planning things to do, it doesn't waste our planning period.
I had the same last year, a team planning, and an individual planning, in a row, with lunch in the middle. I had almost 2 and half hours off in the middle of the day.
I had a list of things that I was going to accomplish in that time. I didn't try any, but it was a good list: 1) Drive to my parents house (an hour each way) and leave a massive shit in the toilet 2) Play 9 holes 3) Go to the local casino with a collection of money from colleagues, put it all on either black on the roulette wheel, or one hand of blackjack 4) See a movie 5) Drive home and take a nap

Checked my schedule today. Fool-ass counselor dumped a 9th grader in my section THAT I HAD LAST YEAR, who showed up 3% of days, and when he did, he'd either A) yell eat a/suck my dick or some form of fuck until kicked out B) verbally/sexually assault his female peers C) rap at the top of his lungs with his headphones in. His cumulative average was a 0.08%. Best part? We have a several sections for repeaters.
Every single freshman this year should have been born AFTER 9/11. It's mind boggling the disconnect. Seriously, ask a kid under 16 who someone like Chris Farley is. You'd be lucky if 10% of kids you ask could identify him.

One of my students went missing Thursday after school. Still no word Another student, who just transferred in Thursday, Mom passed away last Saturday. She almost got to fighting because she was arguing with a male student and he told her “fuck you and your mom”

this. student walkout at 10:00 until 10:17. some districts in sc have gone on record as being whack saying students could face disciplinary action if they participate
My admin has things planned for all the walkout students from 10am until 11:15am. We are only 35 miles from Stoneman so our district has pretty much mandated participation.
seems like mandated participation could be a slippery slope but better than disciplining students for participating
