I feel the same with Bender and Coffee Bender (too much for me and I prefer Bent Paddle Cold Press out of Duluth). Cacao Bender is fantastic though. They don't put it in cans but you can get it at the brewery or a select few local beer-centric bars. Seriously, fantastic stuff. On a related note, I had this at a local bar the other day and it was one of the best beers I've ever had in my life.
Todd the Axeman, PseudoSue, Zombie Dust, etc... are all good to very good hoppy beers, but they don't touch the hoppy things put out by Trillium, Tree House, Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Other Half, and several others.
Depends on the beers, but I don't think either of those breweries are universally disliked or labeled overrated.
I meant Half Acre. Oops. I did consume some Other Half brews this weekend during the EBF festivities. Delicious!
My favorite part is when he yells GERMANY. The Blackfish was there any accuracy to the it being Germans part?
He and old man strutting that ass would probably have a good time with a case of Keystone PS Hope you are familiar with strutting that ass
Well I wasn't, but after some Juggsian research, I am now familiar. Not sure whether that is a good thing or not. God Bless all the freaks and weirdos in the world.
I mean, I don't think either of them particularly are rated high enough to be overrated. No one I know touts either brewery as the best or among the best. Agree that Stone is better than Brooklyn, but they're also different breweries. Stone's Imperial Russian Stout was among the best of its kind, before a lot of craft breweries started perfecting the style (going back to our discussion earlier, I'd pt 3F in that conversation now).
Maybe I just think they're more highly thought of than they are. When Stone announced they were going to start distributing to Minneapolis beer nerds were losing their mind. I guess the same happened with Fat Tire but that was a very long time ago.
Yeah, that's what I've been told. They aren't bad, just not my favorite style. Never had any from Treehouse or Trillium or any of the other big hitters though.
