MODEVIL Green Cheek is the former Noble head brewer. So far pretty good from the tasters I've had. Cans didn't run out yet so the hype train isn't there just yet.
I follow Evan from when they tagged him upon his departure from Noble. I'll make it to a release soon.
Long time no see. Feels like it's been years since I checked this thread. Anyway, speaking of Casey, this is tasty.
Not sure. I know the last 3 weeks or so of Monson releases were brewed on the new system as a test. My friend got me some Lights On that he swears was brewed and canned in the new spot and sold in the Monson spot and it was amazing. They almost rarely did can released on Saturday's in Monson so I would think cans would be out this week in the new spot
Driving up to Montreal in the AM - plan on stopping over at Prohibition Pig for lunch tomorrow & in Burlington on the way back. Poverty here I come.
Had all of their beers and 4 hill farmstead beers (half pours). I've rarely been this buzzed at lunch.
doing the PCH from San Diego to SF. Any must drink spots? Will probably stop at Beachwood and Firestone Walker. Any recs for bars (particularly in SD and SF) that will have a great tap list? thanks
The Bier Garden in Encinitias, Encinitas Ale House, Union Kitchen and Tap in Encinitas, Pizza Port Brewing in Solano Beach.
How many days are you planning to do this? As far as Beachwood goes, make sure you put in the Long Beach Restaurant and Brewery location. They have the restaurant in Seal Beach right off PCH and their new production facility is in Huntington Beach. Also in Huntington Beach on PCH and Warner heading north is a brewery called Riip that makes some decent stuff. They do crowlers so may be cool to grab one for a post drive/hotel beer.
In San Diego for a few days, then drive up over three days, sleeping in Ventura, Cambria, and Carmel, then four days in San Francisco
Got ya. Drive up pch in the am, stop at Beachwood for lunch then head towards Ventura. Stop at Casa in Oxnard or uber back from your place in Ventura.
yeah that's what i was going to do. so don't go to the one in seal beach go to the one in long beach?
The Seal Beach location is just a restaurant and bar. They serve some ~6 Beachwood beers, but will usually have other good things. The Long Beach location is the brewery and also a restaurant. They will have ~25 Beachwood beers on tap. Not sure the hours these days, but Beachwood's sour and Barrel project, the Blendery is next door.
Their IPAs are all really good along with their stouts. Tag me when you are going as they have a webcam of the menu and I can give you a few recs. They do half pours which is quite nice.
We got any Virginia beer dudes in here? Aslin is doing a tap takeover in Portland tomorrow and the only thing I've had from them was some Orange Starfish I traded for once. What should I expect and be on the lookout to try?
