In NOLA this weekend for the first time in way too long. Any brewery recs or LA/TX beers that are must trys?
Hit the Tchoupitoulas brewery circuit: NOLA - Urban South - Courtyard Stein's Deli, 504 Craft Reserve, and Elio's are all good spots to shop bottles/cans. Bulldog and Avenue Pub are solid beer bars. Probably some others too I'm forgetting. Parleuex Beer Lab is good, up in the Bywater district, about a year old now. Definitely keep an eye out for any Parish Bloom/Ghost in the Machine if you're into the hazy ipas. Great Raft out of Shreveport is good as well, I've really enjoyed some of their smaller batch bottles I've found. Gnarly Barley is across the lake iirc, makes Jucifer, solid juicy ipa. They also put out Kordova in several variants, solid milk porter. Courtyard tho. The bees knees. They usually have several NEIPAs of their own and maybe a sour or stout or two. About half the taps are other good beer from all over Louisiana and the country.
Local craft beer bar just turned 13, this is their 3rd location as they kept outgrowing old ones. They had a nice list. They actually are brewing now. Did both Cantillons, the Tilquen, and a Boon Kriek.
I've got some bottles of Cantillon, Fantome, Tilquin, and 3 Fonteinen stashed away - including lambics. Waiting to break some out over the summer, hoping that they've survived.
I need some Cantillion in my life. Had a glass from a friend’s stashed bottle a few years ago and it’s still the best beer I’ve ever had.
I can order that wholesale. I pretty much only go out an order beers I can't get or beers I don't feel like ordering a case of at 18/bottle wholesale
You could make a killing reselling that if you can order a case as I thought that beer was a brewery only sale except for special occasions.
This is the coffee version, and goddamn is it amazing. Definitely the best of last year's Eclipses I've had.
Also I know some had expressed interest in Ghost...it's coming soon so let me know. I'm keeping an eye on the good bottle shop in town to know if there will be limits or anything.
Going big tonight. Got married yesterday, but didn't drink anything, so I'm counting this as my wedding beer.
