How the hell do they pay $5 an hour? No way that's minimum wage in MA.
That's because they bank on customers tipping these employees & they're categorized accordingly. With Square, Toast tab, etc. you basically get shamed into tipping something at least & trillium has their checkout screens programmed for 10%, 15%, 18% & 20% tips IIRC - so there's a good chance that people tip at each transaction.
But if i'm paying 24-26$ a 4 pack & the guys are walking 2-4 feet to grab the beer, should I be forced to tip that much? I always tip them but it's a ridiculous practice.
The Tetraults are raking in money, and yet, relying on customers to pay their employees on top of the beer $$.
Not to mention, the fuckers have changed the "fermentation profile" to basically cut costs by switching to a cheaper yeast and it shows on their standard stuff - the latest dialed in & galaxy cutting tiles were nowhere close to what they used to be.
Ok makes sense that they are classifying them as waiters. Didn't know you could do that for a brewery only. I read the reddit post and a few other things and fuck those people.
Shaun Hill would never do this
Yeah - fairly shitty. Whoever thought that it was a good idea to make the retail salaries match the greenway staff salaries (who're essentially bartenders) was fucking lazy and idiotic. Reading the BA thread, there were some posters talking about how the Tetreaults are minority shareholders now after selling to PE - that's news to me.
Yup. Gonna need $$ for all that expansion and the $4 million digs.
That's what I figured or they paid for it by over pricing the beer and cutting wages
Pompeii from Toppling Goliath is too legit.
More legit than the song by Bastille?
Working on verticals.
I’m just drinking a shelf turd CBS. What a world.
I'm going to try and pick up some Hinterland coffee stout while I'm in Green Bay this weekend
(belated) Happy Turkey day!
There are cases of WW Dark Arts, BCBS variants, CBS, etc just sitting out in Atlanta. Neckbeards would have rioted for this stuff a few years ago.
Hill Farmstead releasing Clover on Wednesday and I have off
This is going to be the best day of my life
Yo Heady gets all the love but Focal Banger is fucking legit.
Also Dinner is delicious but doesn’t deserve to be rated so highly don’t at me
Rated highly because it’s been around long before the haze craze
But I agree
Triple post but Northeast IPAs are good but overrated as fuck because population. Toppling Goliath and Surly regularly put out hoppy beers that are as good as Heady et al
Those Beers are just way more available/
Multi state distro, but I agree
Good beers but many could use more malty or more bitter to provide better balance. When they are balanced they are great--among my favorite style. But, definitely overrated due to lack of supply/unique nature (much like Hop Slam once was).
Zombie Dust/3 Floyds too
Also was Brewery only / Local spots only for a long time. Rarer the beer = higher the ratings get.
Couldn't believe it when I walked into a gas station the other day and saw half a dozen CBS sitting on a shelf. I remember being stoked just to wait in line to get a 4oz pour at a Hop City event few years ago.
Clover release postponed due to weather
I have never known heartbreak on this level before
I think you need to re-evaluate your priorities. Beer should be much lower on the list :P
They had this on draft at the pizza pace I’m grabbing dinner from. Was all excited to give it a try. $14 for a 12 oz pour? Lol nope.
Ask for a sample :lifehack:
not sure if i've said it in here but if you're ever in Minneapolis, Dangerous Man is leaps and bounds the best brewery in town
Fair State brewing second
People realized it isn’t worth $27 a bomber. Been on shelves at my local Total Wine since it came out.
Anyone tried the Bulleit Aged Guinness? It sounds like one of those things that could be good but actually is awful.
CBS is $27 pffffft
The times I had it was great, but hard pass on that price.
$22 in Atlanta. Still not really worth it (even though I have a few).
Green’s on Ponce didn’t even sell out of the Black Friday BCBS vertical. They had 2016-2018 regular, coffee, bramble, and northwoods sitting on the shelf as of Wednesday.
Imagine paying almost the same price for CBS as you would for Damon...
I used to live in NE so I wasn’t far from Dangerous Man but I haven’t been back since we had a kid and moved. I wish I could buy their stuff outside of the brewery.
Fair State is interesting. They do a lot of things and not all work but when they hit they’re really good. I love their double stout (Giantsbane) and keep that and the Bent Paddle Cold Press Black stocked all winter.
Lupilin and Black Stack are doing good things as well but I’ve never been to either brewery
BCBS Midnight Orange is delicious and I won’t hear anything to the contrary.
Had Lupulin Blissful Ignorance couple weeks ago and was great, it's not as frequently on menus around. Had BlackStacks Local 755 which isn't anything special but Nolos here seems to always have it and it's better than the Surly stuff.
Fair State definitely has some misses and their year round brews aren't great. The special release sours and shit like Mirror Universe is what sets them apart.
Dangerous Man really needs to buy a bigger production facility. I still can't believe they brew everything out of that building they're in. Make runs to the crowler shop every month or two to grab a bunch.
I think the Local 755is good but not great. I really like the Tiger Style and Tug it Out. Face Tats was pretty decent too and I like a Saison I had from them a year ago.
Was lucky enough to have Batch 2 of Madness and Civilization up at Hill Farmstead today. Just fucking incredible.
I like the DTLA Mikkeller better than the SF one Corky Bucek
Happy Monday dudes. Still the best canned beer I’ve ever had
Merry Christmas Eve, duders.
21st amendment help... MAB10 is on the bottom of the can. when in the hell does that mean it was canned?
Could that B be an 8? A quick google says that they use Julian dating, where 810 would mean the 10th day of the year (January 10) in 2018. They might write that as 8010 though, I'm not sure.
