I’ve never had a bad experience trading with people here. Probably traded with most of the regulars back when this thread was poppin’
Picked some of these up on my way to BFE Louisiana to fish last fall. Delicious but blacked out and threw up on the boat all the next day
Speaking of Nashville (not a Nashville beer, I’ll bust out my Czann glass for the Bearded Iris I guess).
Celestial has done it again. PB&J “Welcome to the Space Jam” Berliner Weisse accomplishes exactly what it set out to accomplish. A nutty, tart, jammy sour of which I have never tasted anything like Their recent “Beatuiful Oblivion,” almost certainly paying tribute to the great Eve 6, is also the best ipa I have tried in months. Idaho 7, Citra, and Mosaic juicy earthy goodness. 10%
Are you saying I owe you beer? I remember trading with you. Sorry I’m just seeing this part but please explain.
Based on how PMs it does look like I owe him a box, from December 2017 I bumped the PM to resolve the thing I forgot about 2.5 years ago. I pretty much own a bar seat at bearded, I can handle this Oof I read through the PMs and kicked the can on shipping from May-Dec ‘17. I deserve being called out here, I have no idea what happened other than some awful excuses.
Local can shop in SoCal just announced they got a shipment of these for $6 a can. Worth it and which one would you recommend if I get 2-4 cans?
For $6 a can? Nah. It's good, but you can get just as good and better from local breweries for cheaper.
Personally I have Chief of Chiefs rated slightly higher, but they're all a 4+/5 stars. If it's worth it is a you call, I suppose. I'm a sucker for always trying something different, so I'd say so. Dougy is right, I wouldn't say it's better than a lot of stuff you can get out there.
Thanks, thought that was fairly expensive, must be a huge premium to ship them out. Might grab one or two to try it next time I put in an order, but sounds like it's not special enough to stock up on.
Never been a fan really. Too malty. I wish I liked their stuff better because it's the closest brewery to me.
Truth is I don't usually hesitate at $6-7 singles. But I also don't drink beer at the rate I used to. I buy significantly less 4 and 6 packs any more. So having a variety of singles is usually my play vs buying a 4 pack. Because I want the variety so if I get a 4 pack I'm still usually going to get a single or bottle. Idk, I'm weird.
I’ve loved some of them, but a few have definitely been a little sweet for me. Doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy them though.
I had Double Homestyle last night. Solid. I was told by a buddy that Double Scatterbrain DDH With Citra is really good. So we’ll see.
It was about 88* here yesterday. I did two KBS and a Mexican Cake. Aside from the aforementioned hangover, no ragrets.
I had a Manhattan before cracking the KBS. Just being lazy this time, but I actually like drinking heavy beers in smaller glasses.
This is the flower from one of my absolute favorite trees, the aptly named eastern hophornbeam (Ostrya virginiana). Off topic I know, but I figured my fellow beer nerds would find this to be pretty cool.
Selling off most/all of my beer for reasons. If you're interested in a detailed list of what's available, pm me. Creature stouts, Casa stouts, Casa saisons, some other random stuff.
This is a lot of my favorite coffee roasters in a beer made by a brewery I really like. Intelligentsia is kinda a sellout like Goose Island but I appreciate their roots and will buy their beans if I'm at a grocery store without a decent selection
