Going to the super regional in Tucson and they don’t serve in the stadium during NCAA postseason and then immediately driving two hours home. Might have a seltzer *shudders* or two beforehand at my friend’s place. I also way overdid it last weekend and finally came to the realization that I need to cut back a bit and more equitably spread my drinking out. So a day off for the weekend isn’t the worst. Hitting a brewery and soccer match Saturday and going to San Diego next weekend. Years ago I stopped having a beer or two on weeknights so I could go harder on the weekends. Being up in the wee hours of the morning still going at it on the weekends isn’t working at almost 32.
bro, i'm 36 and don't drink during the week at all. I overdue it on the weekends sometimes and feel like a dipshit. Sometimes you gotta stop drinking for a few weekends and then go back at it . Or not.
That might be my favorite beer color. Pour out a Citra hopped hazy and get that color, and you know you're in business
The Sweet Baby James from Tripping Animals is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Grab it if you can.
Myself, VTA and a.tramp just got to Seaward who used to work for Casa and they have an outdoor tiki party going on. There is a church next door and they are having an outdoor AA meeting.
Headed to Asheville this weekend. Never been before. What beers in the area are a cant miss? Even if its something i need to go grab in a store vs going to a brewery
burial. They do their special releases online on Wednesday at noon, you can order then and pick up once you get in town
Bharmari, Burial, and Zillicoah are my 3 favorites. One World, Archetype, and The Wedge are also super solid. Sierra Nevada is an experience and New Belgium has a really nice setup. Wicked Weed isn’t Asheville, so don’t support them.
Did you happen to eat any food at Bhramari? Because it’s fantastic. Let me know if you need any food recs. We’re heading up in a few weeks for the 4th and I absolutely can’t wait.
We actually havent been yet. Buddy picked up those cans at the store. May have to check that out though. Down for any recs you are willing to dish out on food
On the road again. First brewery I’ve been to outside of the Phoenix area since the 2019 Cotton Bowl.
Chicken sandwich at Buxton Hall (bbq is damn good too, but trust me on the chicken sandwich.) Bhramari has an awesome and very eclectic menu with a lot of local farm to table fare. Limones for upscale Mexican. The duck poutine at Sierra Nevada is absurd. Cocktails and small plates at The Admiral. Rhubarb or Chestnut for good American. Curate for Basque tapas and cocktails. It’s honestly hard to find a bad place to eat there.
Literally just had a conversation with the wife not 10 minutes ago about why this one beer was lower than the rest. Hilarious
I was drinking the other day at a bar and they had a Yellowhammer Trampoline Dream on tap that was fantastic. We had 3 and were like what is the ABV? Turned out to be fucking 9.4!
Really good. As mal630 said Trampoline Dream is great but high ABV. Yellowhammer is putting out some solid stuff now.
