Best episode of this season was negen bashing glenns skull in. Been down hill since then because theyve toned down the violence and turned it into days of our lives with wife drama and rick fantasizing and carl feeling sad about his one eye
This show has gotten pretty fucking bad. Does anyone have any update of viewer numbers? I can't believe that this show is picking up near as much attention as it used to.
http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dv...e-pace-in-cable-live-3-ratings-for-feb-13-19/ Ratings not what it used to be but still by far the most heavily watched series on cable TV.
Here's a look at the viewership going back to the middle of season 5 (all that would fit in a single screencap)... Spoiler Season 5 was the peak for average viewership with no episode dipping below 13m viewers and season 5's premiere holds the TWD record for highest viewership for a single episode at 17.29m viewers. So the ratings decline began in season 6 but there was still no episode below 12m viewers. This season has shown a sharper decline with the 3 episodes before the mid-season break dipping below 11m viewers.
Where did you get that table? I looked up the show on Wikipedia and don't see it? Though what I see is this nice little graph and concise table Looks like ratings haven't been this low since season 3 and s7e6's rating of 10.40 is the lowest rated episode since s3e6's rating of 9.21. Current average rating of 10.84 for season 7. With the way the ratings keep dropping off after the season and so far the midseason, wouldn't surprise me if season 7 has a lower average than season 3, and the season premiere was the second highest rated episode of the series at that. I miss the glory days of this show. Seasons 1-5 were appointment television for me.
Seriously, some people hate on this show just to hate on this show. You obviously didn't listen to the "backstory" if you think that she's having a hard time because 'the world ended 3 years ago'. Not to mention, is she legitimately 'having a hard time' or was the character "acting" to try to convince Eugene to make the pills?
yeah a 15% decline gets noticed. except they are doubling down on the cheese instead of hiring writers
Will be interesting to see how they handle the show going forward, especially when they reach the post-Saviors war comic book arc. It's obvious people aren't liking the direction the show is going. We saw that last year as shown by the declining viewership, but I guess the viewership didn't decline enough to get the attention of the decision makers. The season average thus far being over 2 million less than last year, and down 24.6% since the peak season average two seasons ago, should signal to them something needs to change. Though it seems like everyone is content to mail it in these days so maybe they just don't care as long as it's the highest rated show on cable TV. Something will have to change if AMC really wants to keep this show on the air for a decade plus, what they are doing now isn't sustainable. Frankly, I don't know what they can do at this point though. The Negan stuff is great comic book material that is being completely butchered for no apparent reason other than laziness and arrogance. The comic book hasn't been anywhere near as good post-Saviors war, and it's just now starting to pick back up nearly three years after the war ended. Unless they drastically stray from the source material, the content after the war would take several seasons at AMC's current rate, and the quality of that content is very unlikely to draw viewers back in. Frankly, if I wasn't invested in the show (and the comic book), I wouldn't even be watching it anymore.
The last few seasons, you could watch the premiere, the half season finale, the second half premiere, and the season finale and know 99% of what happened that season. That's a dumb formula.
Their formula of telling the same timeline 6 different times from 6 different points of view to have them culminate in a mid-season or season finale is getting old as fuck and boring.
I enjoy watching the show and hoping that every main character will die and pointing out how stupid everybody/everything is on the show.
I hate this show, I hate myself. Just glad I typically drink on Sundays and don't remember much of this shit.
I thought it was a great episode, mainly because it was about Eugene. Some great lines in there. Interested to see if Eugene is truly all about being with Negan for the protection or if he is going to try to sabotage the Saviors from the inside.
According to Wikipedia, just 10.42 million viewers for this week's episode. Barely beating out episode 6 at 10.40, which was the lowest viewed episode since season 3, episode 6. Season average now down to 11.68, 11.15 when factoring out the obscenely high viewership total for the first episode.
Is this your normal amusement park giant field behind a high school hidden in the woods? This fucking show
I feel like the only way to watch this show is to wait until it's completely over so they don't annoy you with awful cliffhangers. Or just don't watch it, because it truly is a garbage show that I only watch because zombies.
I've got 4 of these on my DVR and I may not watch any of them. Not even mad about the mild spoilers in this thread. Am I done?
Well, since people are very pleased with tonight's episode I guess I'll post the spoilers for the rest of the season. Just little breakdowns from TheSpoilingDeadFans that were posted over a month ago based on their "spying" and contacts. So, obviously, big spoilers in here... Spoiler Episode 7.13 Characters: Maggie, Daryl, Sasha, Eugene, Rosita, Negan, Simon, Jesus, Enid, Gregory, Dr. Harlan Carson, Saviors Location: Hilltop, Sanctuary Highlights: * Sasha and Rosita apparently go rogue on a mission to the Sanctuary. Seems like they are on a suicide mission to take out Negan on their own. * There’s a scene where Rosita and Sasha set a car on fire. Then later another scene where a few Saviors are herding walkers into storage containers, using water jugs to cover their heads. Rosita and Sasha take out these Saviors. * Sasha makes it inside the Sanctuary while Rosita does not. * There are rumors that Eugene gets an opportunity to be rescued but turns it down. What’s goin’ on there, Eugene? * Saviors come to Hilltop and take Dr. Harlan Carson. Maggie and Daryl have to hide and are almost discovered. * There's whispers that it will be revealed that Jesus is gay. Episode 7.14 Characters: Carol, Ezekiel, Morgan, Ben, Richard, Jerry, Daniel, other Kingdom people Location: Kingdom, Carol’s house, other outside areas Highlights: * According to information listed in casting calls and other rumors that have surfaced, both Richard and Ben die in this episode. * At this time, we think Ben’s death will be caused by some shady dealings from Richard during a supply drop. We’ll call it “melon-gate.” It’s believed that he will stir up a conflict between the Saviors and the Kingdomers as another attempt to get Ezekiel to fight back. But Ben will end up paying the price with his life. * Morgan was seen dragging Richard’s body. We believe Ben’s death will trigger Morgan to regress back into “crazy mode” and he will kill Richard as a result. His life wasn’t all that precious, was it Morgan? * It's speculated that Morgan will go back to Carol and eventually tell her what happened to Glenn and Abe. Carol filmed at the Kingdom, so it appears she goes back to encourage Zeke to fight. Episode 7.15 Characters: Rick, Michonne, Carl, Tara, Father Gabriel, Jesus, Daryl, Maggie, Aaron, Negan, Sasha, Gregory, Tobin, Eric, Natania, Cyndie, Rachel, Beatriz, Kathy Location: Sanctuary, Hilltop, Oceanside Highlights: * Tara ends up breaking her promise to Cyndie and tells Rick about their group. They travel to Oceanside along with a large group of Alexandrians. * Since they brought such a large group to Oceanside, it seems that their initial meetings might not be entirely peaceful. We suspect there will be conflicts and the Oceanside women might not agree to fight. However, Team Family does appear to get a hold of their weapons. * Supposed to be some really cool ocean walkers in this episode. * Sasha will become Negan's prisoner. Very possible we could see a remix of that comic Holly scene where a Savior makes an aggressive advance on Sasha. Probably won't end well for that Savior. Episode 7.16 Characters: Rick, Michonne, Carl, Daryl, Maggie, Sasha, Rosita, Tara, Negan, Eugene, Jesus, Dwight, Simon, Father Gabriel, Aaron, Eric, Enid, Carol, Morgan, Judith, Ezekiel, Scott, Tobin, Jadis, Tamiel, Brion, Jerry, Daniel, Dianne, Eduardo, GPK, Saviors Location: Sanctuary, Hilltop, Alexandria Highlights: * Negan catches word about Rick gathering an army and heads to ASZ with his Savior troops. Sasha and Eugene are also with him. From what we have heard, Sasha does not arrive alive. * There's rumors that Michael Cudlitz came back to film for the finale. Most likely a flashback/ dream sequence involving Sasha's death. * The Garbage Pail Kids are also at ASZ and filming reports suggest that they do fire at Team Family. Looks like they double crossed our heroes and fight alongside Negan. * Episode is basically a chaotic battle, LOTS of gunfire, smoke, and possible explosions. * Rick and Rosita are supposedly shot. Injuries do not seem serious. * Eugene tells Team Family they should surrender. Appears to be siding with the Saviors. (Come on, man!) * Whispers of a possible remix of the second line up scene from the comics. We are hearing it will be much smaller and might only involve Rick and Carl. Negan might attempt to Lucille Carl, only to be saved by the Kingdomers (Shiva!!!) at the last second. Hilltoppers eventually join in on the fun when they arrive a little later. *Michonne filmed on a large crane during the finale. This appears to be a remix of the Andrea tower scene from the comics, only it will involve Michonne and a member of the GPK. * Saviors and GPK were both witnessed retreating during filming. The battle has been won and war has officially begun! Reports of speeches, chanting, and cheering during filming. Looks like the end of the episode will be everyone (ASZ, Hilltop, Kingdom) rallying together, ready for all out war. The breakdowns make it seem like the rest of the season could be OK but since it takes a minute to read a breakdown and over 40 to watch the corresponding episode results will vary. Good news is we get Negan in 3 of the 4 remaining episodes for this season.
Everything up to episode 16 sounds pretty meh to me. This will easily go down as the worst season of the show. Will be interesting to see how they manage to fuck up the All ut War arc next season.
They are trying to milk it for everything they can but are doing so at a snail's pace. They have successfully ruined what would otherwise be an amazing show / story. If only HBO could have done this.....
