How do you people get upgraded on rooms? Is there a secret code or handshake that I need to know because even when I've called to ask about different things in the past, they have never suggested any sort of upgrade.
We did Universal a few weeks ago and can confirm that it’s the only time I’ve been to a theme park where we went in right when it opened, rode every ride and we’re done by 3:00.
It definitely is busier than normal. Went last month and it felt like Spring Break level crowds especially at MK and HS.
just got an email that there will be construction at the hotel (GF) during our stay. how annoyed should I be?
Got there 30 minutes before open there was a line a good 30-50 deep already but they got us in and out in under 15 minutes after open. I didn’t go but they seemed to have it queued up like a ride inside
Early pandemic their main location was doing deliveries along with the rest of east end market and it was heaven. It was also limited and you basically had to be one of the first to order to get through.
Got the cookies and cream cookie last time, that thing was fire. Virtual queue is great. We were at dinner when we got our text, but they didn’t care when we showed up like an hour later.
Apparently my wife planned ours with the possibility of an upgrade in mind. She specifically picked the garden wing of the Contemporary even though it had not been updated like the main building. I tried to get her to switch back when she made the reservation but she wouldn’t budge. She knew that they would be upgrading the garden wing at some point to match so she was hoping it would happen when we were going and that they would switch us to the main building.
Get really fucking lucky. In my 60+ trips in my lifetime I’ve gotten upgraded maybe a handful of times and each time it was to a room with a slightly better view. Never an upgrade to a suite or to a different hotel.
Yep. I just do a pre order at east end so I can get 6-8 cookies at a time. Then I’ll just grab a couple cake slices while I’m there.
I got “upgraded” from the polynesian to gf once and i told them i didn’t want to change rooms i like polynesian more
I always assumed you were local with the frequent trips. Thinking about how much you know about DVC, etc… I should have known better.
close enough. Live in South Florida. We go pretty frequently. Will definitely be going a ton that I got a kid.
Today in FantasyLand, I saw a girl drop a corn dog on the ground, her mom “dusted” it off and handed it back to her. I’m not sure that’s what Walt had in mind for my fantasy but I’m sure Les Miles was somewhere smiling
Man with inflation and Chapeks quest to take every penny working class families have, i wouldn’t do it……… but I understand.
I'm coming in here because my wife is taking kids (I have to work) to Universal this year. Staying in Loews Pacific...she sorta set this all up on her own. Bad idea?
yeap nothing wrong with Pacific at all plus they will get the unlimited EP for rides. Also if she doesn't feel like waiting for the boat you can walk to City Walk or the Parks from Pacific there.
I know literally nothing about universal but she is usually really bad at planning this sort of stuff.
Today was last day at parks, closed out with Rise as it closed. Now time to figure out how to tell wife this is the last time I want to do Disney World
i get stuck going because of my siblings and i don’t hate it but i know there’s an end on site I’d probably only go back if something really big opened after they’re old but good luck if she’s a Disney adult
Seems like chapek’s main goal has been fucking over people that go to Disneyworld first and then I’m guessing he’ll gouge the fuck out of everyone in cali next
I wouldn’t classify her as a Disney adult. Still not a battle I expect to win or even sure is worth fighting. If we are fortunate enough for it to be an issue I’ll possibly try to suggest we pay for a sister to go with her.
Not a vacation for the parents, just moving the chaos from home to a more chaotic environment. It really exhausting.
Honestly, it’s worth it. My daughter’s interaction with Cinderella followed by her walking through the park in her princess dress waving at everyone made the whole damn thing worth it.
With all the new gouging, specifically paying to go to the front of the line, I don't think we'll go back. And that makes me kinda sad.
Totally worth it. My wife and I were at each other’s throats a few times thanks to the stress and we almost gave the kids away a few times but watching them have a great time was awesome.
