Extended evening hours so far this year have been Mondays for Epcot and Wednesdays for MK. Same for the schedule all the way out through August. Would we expect this to hold through the end of the year? How likely that there are changes? I’m going in December and trying to plan for it. I know I can wait to get my park reservation once my dates enter the schedule window. But I’m also purchasing Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas tickets in 10 days so that plays a factor as well.
Word. That’s what I was afraid of. But I know there isn’t a MVMC party at MK on the Wednesday I get there, so I’m hoping that evening hours holds.
I will also let you know that going to MK on the 2 nights a week that is not a party, is an awful experience because those are the same days that every single other person on property is going to MK the best thing to do is go to MK in the morning on days when there are parties, and then just park hop at like 5pm to somewhere else
Good to know. That’s what I figured and I’m contemplating doubling down on MK on our party night because of it. Do 7:30-12:30, give the kids a nice 3 hour break at Poly, then head back around 4:00 and see if they can make it through the parade and fireworks.
MK & Epcot yes bc they do special fireworks for them I recommend everyone experience Epcot fireworks on the 4th of july at least once
Studios was Sunday for us, it was cool. Rock and roll roller coaster was the best, that take off Rise of the resistance was overrated to me, I liked it but I liked smugglers run better. Oga’s Cantina was a cool experience as well. yesterday was AK, enjoyed pretty much all of those rides and attractions. We did the safari early so saw all of the animals and then went to expedition Everest. Holy shit. That going backwards was cool as hell. Really wanted to ride it again but ran out of time. Yak and yeti was great, I got their ribeye and it was delicious, cooked perfectly. Avatar area was freaking unreal. It was beautiful and that Avatar ride was the best so far, 10/10. today is the “rest day” (Disney springs) and then we have Epcot and Magic Kingdom the next two days. Anyone got any suggestions on DS? Or anything else? hoping this rain keeps holding off. It’s been hot as Satans balls the last two days but no rain so it’s been great.
Flight of passage is such a fantastic ride. And while most would disagree, I totally agree with your RoR take. For the wait (or the cost of not waiting) I want more. As I was reading your post I was reminded of the main problem HS and AK have- too much theming and not enough rides. That’s the great thing about MK- there’s plenty of smaller/less “must do” rides to allow crowd dispersal throughout the day. The other parks have a ton of theming which is beautiful to look at, but Pandora and Star Wars having just two rides each isn’t sufficient. Doesn’t help they took dinoland out without an immediate replacement.
fast casual, polite pig sit down, boathouse or homecoming. There’s really not anything to do there activity wise outside of shopping.
I’m really looking forward to that redo. I know all the splash mountain loyalists are pissed and such, but I think Princess and the Frog and that ride are a great fit. The music and characters in that movie are perfect for a theme park ride.
As someone who grew up with Splash as my favorite ride, I'm going to miss it a ton and am devastated my sons will never get to ride it, but you are 100% correct that the theming is a perfect match.
Just booked a fall '24 trip on the Fantasy, only stops at castaway and lighthouse point. MrOutlaw does a good job getting things scheduled
Going the last week of October and staying at the Polynesian. My youngest two are pumped for Mickey’s Halloween Party. Splash Mountain was my favorite, i’m pretty bummed we don’t get to ride it this trip.
Just 4, which I think is about right for us. We had done a 3 (too short), and a 6 (a smidge too long).
Disney cruise people, how strict are they on the swim diaper restriction? Our son just turned three and is 80% potty trained. But still makes me nervous swimming in the big pools.
They aren’t strict at all. You will just look like an asshole if your kid shits in the pool and they have to shut it down for 30 minutes to drain and clean
So my two year old can swim? They are both really good not going in the pool, but you just never know.
The getting into community pool was a miserable experience for me, I would recommend avoiding it and keeping your kids in the splash pad. Maybe its only an issue with the Magic's pool but it was crowded and I hated every single second of it. We did not get back in for the rest of the trip. Was honestly the only negative of the entire cruise.
I had someone just go on the wish and told me the chip and dale pool at the front is almost always empty.
CF3234 have you ever done the dessert party for the MK fireworks show? Wife really wants to do it and wanted to get your thoughts
Yea, just try to keep the swim diaper hidden in case of an over eager lifeguard and you shouldn't have a problem. also, don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness One of the best things the wish did is instead of 2 main pools, there is like 10 smaller pools. It spreads the kids out and makes it much less of a nightmare. It shouldn't be hard to find space in a pool because there are so many of them. Correct. It is 2 bottles of wine OR a 6 pack of beer per person per port. They are extremely lax on checking the bottles so if you want to use an old wine bottle to fill with liquor and re-cork it, you shouldn't have an issue. Same with plastic flasks in the suit case. I've never once had a problem getting stuff on board. Remember I said per port, so if you are drinking away and want a refill, find a liquor store at a port and buy more wine. Also, if you are beer drinkers, the beer mug is a must buy. You will get your value out of it really quickly and you can take it home with you to use again on the next cruise.
I haven't but it always looks good. If you have the money and want to guarantee a premium firework viewing spot without having to post up in front of the castle for 3 hours, go for it.
Depends on the lifeguard. We had one come up to me saying my 3 year old can’t wear one. He didn’t have one on but I guess he thought he did. But it’s not like they inspect kids as they enter the pool. he loved the Mickey pool though since it’s only like 2 feet deep. He also loved the little side pools. Splash pads he liked but would rather be in a pool. this is on the fantasy
Second this. Right now it’s also a really nice 25th anniversary mug. I love the system on board where you buy the mug on day 1 and then each time you’re done you trade it in for a card. Then you don’t have to carry the mug around. you just have to remember to trade your card for a clean mug on the last night to take home.
Also posted in the Marvel thread, but the reviews of this musical at DCA are outstanding and I bet they’ll extended it because of the popularity. It’s supposed to end by Labor Day weekend.
Lol I hit all of them with my arm/shoulder. Luckily the other family on the elevator had already the same thing earlier in the day so they weren’t upset.
Rode Tron this weekend and was pretty underwhelmed. I think it could have been an amazing ride but I feel like they got lazy and/or cheaped out a bit. Two simple things (that maybe they normally do but hadn't when I rode it): block off where people unload and have the bikes come up empty and keep the door to outside closed at the beginning after the launch (it was wide open and you could see the sky while you're sitting there). Larger items is the ride needed to be abt 20-30 seconds longer. Way too short of a ride. There are other items my buddy mentioned that he would have liked to have seen to make it better (he agreed that it's just a good ride, but not a great one, and not one that would lead us to making a special trip to MK to ride), but I don't really recall.
