I included the last part bc idk if it's a big deal or not I think they just needed to reset everything because they don't want people getting reservations for dining if they cant get a day reservation to enter the park also
We had tentatively planned to go in late February of next year but damn, that may be when the flood of people who weren't able to go this year go.
guessing when will be a good time to go is a futile exercise at this point. It could be like the opening of Galaxy's edge where the crowds are thin because everyone thought it would be packed. It could be like the opening of Avatar land where it was a 4 hour line just to get into the area and another 4 hour line to get on a ride. Hell, we could be in another Corona outbreak. Pick a date and hope for the best.
I was talking to some friends and we were wanting to plan a trip down there for this Fall. The plan being that we do the things we seem to never do because we always focus on the parks. The general plan was: - Extra Magic hours at the parks (for an hour or so) - golf (Magnolia, Palm, and LBV) - relax at the resort and pool - Dinner at a resort of Disney Springs Unfortunately, they are not accepting any new reservations at this time. I completely understand it, but still sucks.
Thought the same thing, but there is really know way to know. Just book it and reevaluate at the end of this year.
Certainly not the nicest Disney hotel, but its easily the best of the Moderate tier in terms of amenities and just finished a complete refurbishment. Convention center that can be converted into practice courts/meeting rooms? Check Spread out campus with multiple buildings that allow each team a home base separate from other teams? Check A great pool area for the families (assuming they are allowed to go)? Check A Spa that can be converted into a treatment/rehab center? Check It may not be the grand Floridian, but it's a really good option for the NBA. It's also a 5 min drive to Wide World of Sports Complex. That's not even considering the brand new building they recently opened. (I would assume this is where the NBA staff gets headquartered)
I don’t think it’s an amenities/deluxe thing as much as it’s the most commonly used hotel for conventions.
Yacht and Beach+ Boardwalk both have convention centers as well. I think the selling point is that with 2400 total rooms between the cabanas and new tower, they can fit the entire NBA contingent in one hotel and solve the disparity of rooms concern. Oh, it also has a large food court which the Deluxe resorts don't have.
The convention center space at Coronado is easily the biggest on property, but I'm not arguing I was merely just pointing that out.
I think we are on the same page here. They are taking a hit in terms of the actual room and the fact that Coronado is technically a "motel" rather than a "hotel" but it has so much else going for it that it makes perfect sense why it would be the NBA HQ. Side note: have a cousin who refuses to stay at anything other than a deluxe resort because of the others are "motels" I don't like this cousin very much.
It’s impressive that DeSantis, who clearly is forcing people to not report correct information, is so fucking stupid that he he himself reported information in a manner that made what he said sound dire as fuck.
ya, he's had it in development for over a year now just sucks about the timing after working on it for awhile
Did i read they are going to be rolling with a combo flower&garden/food&wine best at EPCOT for a while? Pretty sure it starts on 7/15
Yep, was reading that this morning. They are starting F/G when they open up in July and keeping it going through the Fall. I love F/G and Epcot but right now it is such a waste. I know they would never do this but I wouldn't be against them keeping it closed until they can finish some of the major construction (main walkway area).

they can't make it lighter at this point I get that the sun will eat at it in the next year or two but it's much darker now than the concept art shows
Got our park tickets yesterday. Now hopefully there's some character dining back by the end of the year.
Does anyone have any idea when they will be opening up the resorts for new reservations? I ask because I'd love to go down there and enjoy a park in the AM for an hour or two, go play some golf down there, then relax at the resort for the afternoon. That would allow some fun but also keep up the social distancing.
