100% agree. Walks are great in Disney. Especially during the fall/winter. Just need to take the time into account
are you asking about the monorail from TTC to Epcot? if so, that is not currently running but it may return once park hopping comes back, no one really knows yet
The closest I’ve ever come to starting in Canada was grabbing a cronut from the refreshment port to put a layer of carbs down before I turn around and get some tequila.
man... last time I entered through the Boardwalk entrance by UK and I still dutifully walked clockwise and ignored everything until I hit Mexico
How many, what property? From DVC or resale? Financed or paid in full? If you plan to use them every year, you made a great investment. Will save you a ton. If you bought them as an investment trying to make money, not the smartest thing.
You will miss out on some perks as a resale, but you can’t beat having grand Floridian. You are going to love it.
My fiancé’s family was a annual Disney trip family growing up, and she wants to do the same with ours once we have kids. Plus she’s never stayed in the Grand Floridian and has always wanted to. So all in all, it made a lot of sense to give it a try. Will likely be in this thread a bit going forward.
Counting down to March while getting my vaccine very soon starting to feel a little better about the trip.
Question for bigger groups. I may not find as much help here, but I’ve made a couple posts on DisBoards before and a ton of those people are fucking whack-jobs. Anyway, we pick dining reservations next Saturday. Our trip is long and we’ll be there with her side of the family for the first four days, then my side for the next seven. Her side (there will be 13 of us, but two under two years old) doesn’t really want to spend a lot, but they do want one night out for a table service. I suggested Art Smith’s, even though I’ve never actually eaten there. I figure character dining is probably a shell of itself right now, so just go where the best food might be. Then, you have my side where my sisters and parents basically want to do a sit-down every day. What are your recommendations for them (there will be 12 of us) when most of them haven’t been there in decades? My first thought was another visit to Homecomin’, but also Via Napoli. Would love to have hit some buffet spots, but that’s obviously a no-go for a while. To be noted, most of them are not the most adventurous eaters, so a place like Sanaa is probably not an option. Also, my sister-in-law was wondering how people were doing with two-year olds and masks. She’s been trying to get him used to it, but he’s been a pain in the balls so far. Will the park kick her out if he takes it off a bunch?
So it sounds like her side won’t want to leave the parks but your side is willing to leave the parks for dinner?
I get that bc Disney is pricey. My bigger question is time more so than money. Are they willing to kill 2 hours to leave the park to get better food?
Also not sure if other people take advantage of this but my in-laws do this. If you have a target card it allows you to get 5% of purchases. So, we buy Disney gift cards at target and out $100 and only pay $95 and you can use the gift cards at all stores, restaurants and food carts inside Disney.
Oh, gotcha. Yeah, they are willing to leave to get food. Also, they’re with us that first half week and the hours are still shortened, so we’ll be out of most of the parks by 5:00-6:00pm anyway.
Sam’s club also sells Disney gift cards at a similar discount. Just too much effort to save $5 imo. I’ll take the 3x travel points instead.
It’s very nice. Right next to Disney springs. Gets a lot of the Disney perks but obviously misses the Disney magic. You will be happy
No, but we almost did. Talked to some people we met down there who stayed there and they enjoyed it very much. You’ll have a nice shuttle service to and from the parks, too. One question, however — did you check out Hilton Bonnet Creek when booking?
Lunch I would stay in park for everywhere except MK. For MK, you have some choices at the resorts: contemporary has The Wave and then Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge (a nice boat ride if you haven't done it before) but unfortunately Poly is still down so can't really go there. Epcot you have lots of choices inside. DAK i'd do satuuli. DHS i'd do Docking Bay. Dinner outside of the park is definitely a pick whatever you want type thing. Homecoming is great as is Boathouse at Springs. Olivias at Key West resort. Those are all pretty general pricing and nothing too crazy cuisine wise. Boathouse can be more pricey but you can also just do filet sliders for under $20, so that's the kind of place where you could spend more while they spend less.
100% Mexico if entering from the front. If entering from the back entrance then UK, then back around towards Mexico, maybe stopping for beers in Germany on the way.
Thank you. I’m still quietly hoping things improve and somehow Ohana opens up, even with all the Poly construction on top of this mess.
