yea, to hit that kind of ROI so fast is insane.
Going to Disneyland for the first time in November. My hyper-detailed sister already has most plans laid out... but what restaurants are must hits? Is there anything that I absolutely need to do that wouldn't be an immediate thought?
Unless you want to spend money, quick service food at disneyland is actually legit and I prefer it over sit down restaurants. You can still get shitty pizza and burgers like disney world but there are places like Bengal BBQ & Rancho del Zocalo that have actual good food as a quick service
sit down places are Carthay (at DCA), Blue Bayou (DL, inside views of Pirates), and Cafe Orleans (DL)
another graphic that breaks it down
Only option for out-of-state people (who aren't DVC) is the Incredi-Pass, where the price has stayed roughly the same (maybe went up a little bit) but now you no longer get free PhotoPass. Such bullshit.
You FL residents don’t know how good you have it
Oh we know
except I got fucked this time
I had platinum (no black out but not platinum plus) which is $64 a month with no down payment, and now i'd have to get the top pass at $97 a month
Looks like the wife and I will be getting the Sorcerer pass before we go in November.
are you DVC or a FL resident?
Indeed I am.
hey man this is a kids thread, leave the Kama sutra out of it
Where do you think the kids come from?
Went with pirate passes (usually got silver before but got platinum one or two years). Felt real good to be at food and wine last night.
there’s a noodle stand with pho now and it was delicious. Probably not great on a 90 degree agree on though.
also this is Pirates at DL, not the trash shortened wdw one
People mover? No space Mountain?
People mover is great. I will not abide any people mover slander
over space mountain and as the #3 ride at Disney?
Do space mountain with the lights on. It’s terrifying. Impeding death at every turn.
Saw this while I was on the People Mover. Has increased the terror I feel while riding Space Mountain ten-fold.
Nope nope nope nope nope.
That doesn’t look scary at all. You can tell that it really isn’t high speed, can see the turns, so it takes away from all the mystique of the ride.
Ok fess up which of you dorks did this
So I need to go to Epcot for food and Wine Saturday an old friend is in town. I have a ticket, but it's a free ticket so I'll have to go to will call so he can't add me to his reservation due to lack of ticket number. Also Epcot has a big X through it for Saturday day, I'm guessing due to the new ride being open for passholders to ride some new ride. I'm soliciting ideas on how to handle this if my buddy can't get my added to his party in a phone call. What you got for me folks?
the rez calendar shows it's open for everyone
so my guess is maybe you don't have an MDE account for him to link you
see if you can grab that day based on your ticket with this link https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/park-reservations/
Weird yesterday it literally had no openings for Epcot also it’s not letting me make a reservation unless I have a ticket which I get but damn this is annoying. I’m just going to call them
I think it’s not letting you because of the ticket because I’m seeing open reservations for me right now
It's 100% the ticket, I spoke to them and they've escalated it. The ticket is so old I can't attach it myself so they're going to do it. They told me to call back if they haven't sent me an email before tomorrow.
Sometimes you can pull some moves. My cousin and wife ended their honeymoon here and my wife and I had a bunch of fast passes at AK (and it was packed) and she convinced them to let them on our fast passes by explaining/lying.
At this point if they haven't resolved it by Saturday and I talk to them twice, and it's on record I feel like guest services isn't going to not let me in the park. Because at this point the onus is on them to get it right. I did everything I was supposed to.
Yeah I agree with that
there's definitely zero communication between the phone support and the people at the front gate so i'd make sure to call tomorrow that it's all sorted out before you go there on saturday
Just got back from Disney. This was the first time I have been back since our Aug 2019 and it was a world of difference. I guess with Covid and the time of year, there were much fewer people than I remembered from our last trip. We were able to hit every top ride ride in all of the parks.
I still think the greatest thing about going down there is the bubble that you are in while on the resort property. It's like the outside world does not exist and it was glorious.
Edit: Did not ride people mover.
just in time to start charging for access
I go after Thanksgiving. One less thing I have to worry about trying to scramble to get but one long ass line I might have to wait in...I'll be happy to pay the premium to skip the line on it.
this is for sure going to be one of the rides youll pay $20 per person per ride to skip the line, I'm not sure it's worth that much to me
It will be for me with my 11 month old, 4year old, and pregnant wife staying behind with h grandparents doing good knows what in the park while I go have some daddy time alone with Star Wars.
Well now I'm jealous, while I sit over here and ride small world for the third time in a row
I’m sure I’ll be doing that, too.
100% paying anything for Rise in November and very excited about it.
My parents continually tell the story of how I made them ride the train that goes around the park for 3 full laps in a row.
RotR is as awesome and cool as you’ve heard. As a local I don’t think I’d pay to ride it again (I might) but if I were coming from anywhere else I wouldn’t even think twice, I’d fork over the money for the family to ride immediately.
Taking my daughter again in a couple weeks for her birthday. She’ll be 8, third year in a row we’ve made the trip. I’m starting to think my wife and I are reverting to annual Disney trips solely because we don’t want to have to deal with planning an actual birthday party for her.
From having never really watched Disney movies much growing up and never having been before until 2019, I dove straight in the deep end. Totally amazing and worth it though.
