Also I miss marcus posting itt
6 AM at magic kingdom emporium yesterday. Caused panic attacks for several cast members
I’m not there and I’m having a panic attack.
I ‘member going to Disney World for the 25th Anniversary
Same. Pink birthday castle>>all
Booked our spring break trip for April, staying at the Swan & Dolphin.
I see from their email we have to reserve a spot in the parks, how far out do I have to do that? Does it fill up quickly?
From what I’ve noticed since getting the pass back a month or so ago MK and Hollywood occasionally fill up and I’ve never seen AK or Epcot filled up. I’d still do it as soon as you can just to be safe.
I still have my 25th Anniversary ears from DisneyLAND.
I just tested with my AP and it lets me book a park rez out until may of 2022, so you might wanna check and see if you can.
I cant imagine you would need to do it this early for April, unless you are going during Easter.
we’ll get there Easter night and stay for 4 nights
well then i'd check whenever you get some time
you'll be able to park hop after 2pm, just make sure you get what you want to start the day and dont really worry about the rest
because of course once genie+ and lightning lane goes live then you'll need to figure out if you wanna use that and book FPs that way so knowing which park you'll be at will help you decide if you want to use that
yeah i have atleast 1 that’ll need a nap so the preliminary plan is to hit up the park early, head back for nap(s) then go back in the afternoon-night time
fuck chapek so much
The Magic Key pass holder reservation system for Anaheim is a debacle. There’s going to be a majority not renewing next year if they don’t fix all the issues.
Every single day in October is about booked, and almost every single weekend through the end of the year is booked. There’s a couple left in December but I imagine those will fill up in the next couple days.
People are just speculating which days they might go, and as long as you cancel before midnight the previous day, you don’t get penalized for no showing.
I cannot believe Rise is that cheap
Individual rider, no brainer for sure but a family of 4 to jump the line is $60. I would say thats priced well. I know a lot of people who would absolutely do it, and a lot who would rather wait.
A family of 4 spends probably over $3000 on a wdw vacay? Maybe a low ball depending on days/resort, but what’s $60 to jump the line for the best ride on property at that point?
Just booked 7 days from Vancouver to AK on Disney Wonder next year. Wife and l, plus a will-be 3.5 year old.
Your family is going to love it and your kid will never want to leave the kids club. If you can swing it, make sure you stay in a room that has a verandah. The views on cruises to Alaska are unbelievable.
afb I'm finally taking the family in Early December. What COVID things do I need to be aware of?
Got ourselves a tree house villa at Saratoga. I usually try to avoid that hotel like the plague, but it was all that was available and the tree house should provide us a lot of separation from people.
Just an update to this:
it has sold out every single day
As of today it’s just masks required indoors
how soon out can I reserve restaurants, rides on Genie+, etc?
I'm treating this trip like I'm a newbie because so much has changed.
all genie+ stuff is day of, since you are a resort guest you can start buying things/making reservations at 7am each day
if you plan on doing rope drop, I would only get Genie+ for MK just because of the number attractions it gets you. so you could just rope drop to do 7DMT and not buy that separately. with Genie+, you only get to use the FP/LL one time for each ride. it works like maxpass at DL where you can only book 1 at a time and you can book your second one 2 hours after you book your 1st one OR once you redeem (enter the queue) of the first one
for DHS, I would rope drop for Slinky and buy the individual ride LL for Rise but that's me
Ratatouille is a virtual queue and doesnt fill up til later in they, so I wouldn't stress out about refreshing that right at park opening bc the 1pm slot will still have spots available
dining is 60 days in advance
We are taking the 8 month old, so 7DMT is a no go, most of the rides that require child swap will likely be skipped. We will be paying the $60 for Rise. Sucks but it is what it is. Looks like I can start making dining reservations, so it's time for that. are character breakfasts back to normal, or still separated?
Biting the bullet. Going with the wife and 7yo either the week leading up to Thanksgiving or the week after Christmas. Wife is due in March with I’ve second, so figured it was now or not until the new baby was old enough to walk/enjoy the park.
Not sure on character breakfast stuff.
Rise is like 90-130mins typically for standby if that changes your decision.
2 hours in line with a 10 month old? HARD AS FUCK PASS
We got a deck 6 with an outside view. That was about $1500 more than interior basement. I couldn’t really make myself take the next $3,000 jump to a verandah. It will be our first cruise so I took the middle option to see how it all goes. Do they typically send up sell offers as you get closer?
I think Chef Mickeys is still characters at a distance for breakfast but they’re there. They’re not back at Ohana breakfast yet from what I see.
I managed to somehow get a Cinderella’s Table late lunch reservation and they’re not doing the princesses. We’re hoping maybe that changes before we go but don’t expect it to.
If the cruise doesn't sell out, they start to offer deals the close the cruise gets. If you were cruising anywhere else, I'd tell you to leave it, but the Verandah is a gamechanger on the Alaskan Cruise. If you can swing it, upgrade.
Man, I did WDW for a week that spanned New Year's day (like 12/28-1/04 or something). I'll never do that again. It was horrible. I assume reservations has made it less busy for this coming holiday season?
that is the worst/busiest week of the year
Yeah. We had been plenty of times by that point, so the kids were ok with doing the fast passes and maybe sneaking an early ride or two in before the crazy crowds. Basically spent the afternoons at the pool and/or the resort. But, if it had been the first time we had been to WDW, it may have been enough to never go back.
Looks like free noodles to me
I’m in a Treehouse Villa at Saratoga right now, they are awesome. Only ever see people when I walk over to the pool bar at the main hotel.
Excellent. How far is the pool bar/how is the pool there?
What are your port of calls?
Dawes Glacier (appears to just be a drive by..?)
Back to Vancouver
On a related note, it appears there is a facebook group with 300+ members for the ship/sail date. I feel like it’s not something I want to be involved with in any way. I also kind of want to see what’s happening in there, but that means joining.
We are in one of the villas closest to the walkway, and it’s maybe a five minute walk. Pool is nice but there is apparently a nicer pool somewhere at the hotel but I’ve been busy with work and haven’t done much exploring. There is also a small pool at the treehouse villas which is very basic but has been empty the whole time.
Yeah the ship pulls into the fjord and you watch the glacier calve (hopefully). Lemme know what you plan to do in ketchikan.
if you are a social family and want to meet people, it’s a good thing to do. People coordinate group alcohol tastings, gift exchanges between kids, and stuff like that.
there’s will also inevitably be some veterans who know everything about the cruise as they’ve done it 4+ times already who will give advice on stuff to do.
All the crazy shit the Florida government allows and they nix this?
WHAT ABOUT MY FREEDOM TO GO 95!
Someone tell Desantis about this abomination. It is our God-given right to go 95 in the I95 corridor.
Booked the next trip.
2/12-2/17 staying in the Savannah view room at Animal Kingdom. Will be our first trip since 2018 so we’ll spend a lot of time in the Star Wars area.
We’ve always done the Magic Express but now that isn’t a thing anymore so what are the best options? Have two kids in car seats but may just bring a booster seat for the oldest (5)
how in the fuck...Ive been playing with dates in Feb for the past hr trying to get a room at Animal Kingdom resort and I keep getting unavailable
