For reference, this is the wait time for rise and the lightning pay lane is sold out rn I’ve been on rise at both parks right after they opened and I’m not waiting over 2 hours to ride it again
I assume some of it is just trying to replace long term people lost during the shutdown. On our trip, we had several problems with asshole bus drivers and security. Stuff I had never experienced at Disney before. One bus driver stranded my pregnant wife and mom who needed an ECV at the bus stop with an ECV that wouldn't work. I didn't expect him to fix the ECV, but I was heated he just left them there without making sure they had help coming.
Disneys hotel website is awful Trying to find either a suite or connecting rooms for 4 nights in March. Impossible to navigate Want to do a day at MK and a day at HS Help
As long as they’re the same use year and resort, you can combine them. Really no downside. Most folks with a ton of points buy the minimum required for Blue Card benefits direct, and then the rest resale. I think the current minimum for blue card benefits is 150 direct.
Watch yourselves if you do go. I didn’t do anything inside with any huge crowds of weirdos and i got Covid. I didn’t even ride any rides i either didn’t pay for or have a genie service for. I only ate outdoors too. Just got my booster a few weeks ago
Just landed on the Magic Express on the way to the hotel. A little sprinkle outside but don’t care. My kids are so happy and excited and truth be told I might top them both. It’s not only my kids first Disney trip but also my wife and I.
The ratatouille ride was cool but it’s only worth it if you pay for it. If you get in a queue you’ll still have to wait like 2 hours to ride, but i paid and was immediately sent to the front
i went on Saturday afternoon so that’s probably the main reason i don’t think it’s worth a long wait tbh
My parents bought the kids Disney tickets for April and my mom wants to take our 3 kids to the charsftee breakfast. I’m seeing there are a decent amount still not doing it due to Covid but out of the few that are im guessing Chef Mickey at the contemporary may be the best one to go with?
is it worth buying the bands now that everything can be done on the app? (Smh still cant believe they don't give these to resort guests anymore. the perks for staying on property as opposed to not staying on property are getting hard to justify)
Disney was overall an amazing trip. couple of thoughts. Magic Genie + was terrible… complete waste at of money. Mickey Late Night Christmas event was gold! We did 2/3rds of the park with zero wait for anything. Be our guest was such a waste of money. Beyond the $300+ spent on the meal for four that included a 3 and 7 year old… beast was 50 yards away and had zero interaction with us. Chef Mickey and Tuffin was the opposite fantastic character interactions well worth the money. Really disappointed in our hotel not having all restaurants open. Only had the buffet available and snack shop. Paying $40 for kids to eat Mac and Cheese… yeah no thanks. Everyone everywhere was beyond awesome Transportation was pretty easy and the Magical Express was clutch. Somehow my daughter was 40” at Magic Kingdom both visits but lost 1/4” for Animal Kingdom shorting out day and eliminating a few rides we could’ve done. AK is probably a park we wont return for. Safari was awesome!
Bands we’re really easy for us to use… especially with kids. Don’t have to swipe on phones and open apps. Bands do make it a big quicker. I wouldn’t say it’s a must have but we were happy to have them as first time visitors.
They give you a discount on the band which makes it feel a little better. I still prefer the band for park/room entry, fast pass, and in park purchases. Can also use old bands if you have one. Other option is to go to a character warehouse and buy some there for like $5 each.
I thought they said the bands only work for two years. I have a bunch in a draw but the last visit was in fall of 2019 before covid. Do you think those would still work
We went over the break as well. I echo most of what you said with the exception of genie +. While not as good as fast pass in the past we managed to get a lot of value out of it. Other notes: -Bay Tower at Contemporary was nice but had an issue with one shower that they did not completely fix until the last night. Ended up crediting a night plus $300 which was nice. -First time eating at the Skipper Canteen and it was great food and atmosphere. -Whole family liked Avatar flight of passage better than Rise of the Resistance; both better than anything at Harry Potter -Not being able to rife in the front compartment on the monorail any more sucks
They’d send them to annual pass holders too. Still have them but never use them (got passes back recently after canceling when covid started).
So I’m going to be staying at the Caribe Royale next week for a work conference and may have half a day one of those days to visit a park. Our hotel has a shuttle to the parks so that isn’t a problem, but just curious if it’s worth doing? I was there in Nov 2019 and got to do Smugglers Run 4 or 5 times at Hollywood Studios. I’d love to ride Rise of the Resistance as it wasn’t open then and I won’t be going back with the family for a few years as we have an 18mo and 3yo and would likely prefer they get a bit older before we go back. I guess I’m asking is it worth it? Take the shuttle to the park before lunch, get a ticket, go stand in line and ride whatever, and go home when it closes? I’m not even sure if I could get in like that or if it had to be reserved. I’m also not sure how everything works without fast pass. I know you can pay to get on faster but I wasn’t sure if that’s paused or not put into effect for that ride.
You can wait in line for RoR. But it’s gonna be a long wait. Can also pay $15 for a lightning lane pass. It’s up to you. Is it worth $150ish dollars for a single day at the park?
so you need a park reservation ahead of time, unless they aren't filled for that day then you could get in same day for Rise, if you dont buy the lightning lane within the first hour or so of park opening you will have to wait in line for it

Going to take the will be 5 Year old son to Disney next year at this time of year for his Bday. Planning in doing a 2 bedroom DVC at Copper Creek/Wilderness Lodge. Think 1 day maybe 2 at MK, 1 day at HS and then split a day at AK/Epcot with a resort day in the middle. Any real negatives to Copper Creek other then no monorail access?
